Not really any better than the original
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I personally do not think these are any better than the prior version, event debatably worse in the ANC category. I replaced my originals due to them going conveniently wonky after the new set came out. I moved to the Sony WF-1000XM4 buds and those things absolutely ROCKED!!! They blew the Air Pod Pros both versions out of the water sound quality. The ANC was marginally better. Where the Sony failed is that the buds change to some psudo watered down version of Ambient/ANC mixed mode when in calls. This was a huge deal breaker for me, so I went back to the devil I know. So after my first call with the new APP ver 2, I can confirm this is now a NEW THING the manufacturer's do with the psudo Ambient/ANC mode in calls, and I do not like it at all! This is nothing new to Apple as the first iteration of ANC on the Pro's was fantastic!!. . . and then they did firmware updates and killed the ANC. These are no different. I think the ANC is fairly poor. The fact that something as simple as typing or my dog crying behind me used to be silenced and is now barely muffled. Waste of $250 for these "premium" items. Maybe one day Apple will get it straight with firmware. I will say the volume controls are nice though and what brought me to the APP originally is the shape. I like how they shoot into your canal rather than into your ear/skull bone area
