The best wireless earbuds for iPhone users

    Posted .

Apple has really nailed their wireless earbuds with the AirPods Pro. I was not a fan of the AirPods before this. With those, Apple went with a design that didn't fit my ears. I could put them in, turn my head, and they would pop out. I could take one step and they would pop out. I enjoyed the tech in the AirPods and their portability but they just wouldn't fit my ears. Yeah, you can buy ear fins and covers but that defeats the purpose of the AirPods as you have to take the fins off everytime and the covers disable all the smart features. I think Apple was reading my mind with the AirPods Pro. They have everything I originally wanted out of the AirPods with a design that actually stays in my ear, sweat resistance, and active noise cancellation (ANC) while still being an extremely portable package. I can easily recommend these for any iPhone user, Android users aren't going to get all of the benefits of the AirPods Pro. Pairing is easy just like with any set of earbuds/headphones with Apple's chips in them. Flip the lid open and they'll pop up on your iPhone. Anyone using an iPhone 7 or above will benefit from an extended connection range and a solid wireless signal. I have used these in multiple public areas, including a gym, and I haven't once had these skip, drop out, or produce an audible issue with my iPhone 11 Pro Max or Apple Watch S5. These are environments where other earbuds from Bose, Sony, and Jaybird would have issues. Gyms are packed with people using Bluetooth headphones/earbuds clogging the 2.4GHz spectrum, same with public WiFi. Not a problem with these. The sound quality is a drastic improvement over the regular AirPods due to the seal they make with your ear canal. Bass is solid though not overpowering, there's a wide soundstage (for earbuds), the mids are solid and don't bleed into the lows, and the highs are clearly defined. These still aren't going to compete with high end wired earbuds but, for wireless earbuds, they're pretty good. Bass-heads will still prefer the Bose SoundSport Free or Sony 1000XM3 earbuds but I'm fine with the AirPods Pro. The ANC is top notch, right up there with Sony as the best ANC offered in earbuds. It's not as much as over-ear headphones from Bose or Sony (mainly the QC 35ii, 700 headphones, or WH-1000XM3) but I wasn't expecting that from earbuds. These are right in line with Sony's 1000XM3 earbuds and are even better than some over-ear headphones like the Surface Headphones, models from Sennheiser, Bowers&Wilkins, and B&O. It's more than enough for the office, a busy coffee shop, public transit, and even flying. I wouldn't want to use these on a long 20-hour flight but they're fine for a 4-6 hour flight. The AirPods Pro have a rubber tip that fits inside of your ear canal. They don't go as deep as other in-ear earbuds but rather sit more in your outer ear. I was initially worried about these staying in as earbuds with in-ear tips (and nothing else) don't stay in my ears. I had nothing but trouble with Sony's 1000XM3 earbuds and the only ones that would really stay in my ears were the Galaxy Buds, Bose SoundSport Free, and Jaybird's various models as they all have ear fins. I'm not sure what Apple has done but these have yet to fall out of my ears. I've exercised with them, bent over, jumped, and tried all sorts of things. These just won't fall out of my ears and they're still the most comfortable earbuds I have worn. Battery life, with ANC turned on, is pretty much the same as the standard AirPods. You'll get about 5 hours of use per charge and the case can charge them an additional ~5 times. I wish it was a bit longer, my Galaxy Buds would go for over 6 hours before needing to be recharged. But I'll take 5 horus with ANC on. Apple did include a transparency mode that artificially boosts outside noise but it sounds natural. I can easily pick up on conversations, noises, and other outside noise without having to take the AirPods out of my ears or have it sound like some compressed, boosted mess. These are the AirPods I wanted Apple to originally make. They offer the best ANC in earbuds, have a comfortable fit that I can wear for hours on end, are lightweight and extremely portable (more than any other wireless earbuds on the market), have decent battery life, and offer solid sound quality in a sweat resistant package. Bass-heads will want to consider other earbuds but they either don't offer ANC or aren't sweat resistant. These are my everyday go-to earbuds that I can use in any situation whether I'm in my office, lab, relaxing at home, or traveling. Anyone with an iPhone will have full control of these and get access to all the benefits of the AirPods Pro. Android users won't be able to control transparency or ANC settings and won't benefit from instant pairing and the extended wireless range/solid connectivity but there are 3rd party apps that can at least control some settings with these. The AirPods Pro are $50 more than the AirPods with a wireless charging case but they're well worth it. If you're considering those AirPods, these are worth a second look. Those wanting to just get the regular AirPods should still think about spending the extra $90 as the Pros offer so much more. They're priced competitively with earbuds from Sony, B&O, and Sennheiser that all have similar features.

They noise cancel is cool but they don’t stay in my ears . One always a popping sound and when I tried to call Apple to add Apple care only after 15 days they weren’t eligible ?? I’m supposed to have 60 . I regret this purchase and should have gone with the true momentum 2’s

I own the original Apple AirPods and the AirPod Pros are horrible in comparison. First off, I don’t like the way they fit in the ear. Secondly, they are very difficult to take out of the case. Thirdly, when noise cancellation is on, it feels like my ears are constantly trying to pop like when you take off on an airplane. Lastly, not worth the $250!!!!

I picked them up a while ago while a small sale was going on and I still regret it. Don’t get me wrong if you wanna buy them for computer use or chilling out with music they are fine but if your looking for a good pair of workout any type of movement they fall right out. I even bought different sizes but nothing works.

Good, but just to expensive. Apple makes very good products, however do not take care of their customers. Forgot who made them. Might have all the money in the entire world, more than the US Government too. However, they do not price match no company at all…very selfish, and money hungry. Shame, complete shame…

They constantly disconnect. The left won’t charge properly. I’m so upset that I paid so much for an apple product that doesn’t work properly. I thought I was buying the best. Also, a 15 day return of exchange policy is insane. Very upset and unhappy.

Sound is great out of the right one. The left one never made a sound. Will need to return or bring back to the store to see what the issue is. My kids love them and encouraged me to get them. They can’t figure out what is wrong either.
