You can put these anywhere to track/keep up with anything. I used them to track my furniture during a move. It gave me the exact location. I also put them in my checked luggage when I travel.

I put one each on my keys, another in my new leather wallet which also has a round slot for an AirTag. I put 2 more AirTags in my truck; 1 alarm normal and I removed the speaker on the 2nd one of the AirTags to silence it in case of theft, so I could track my vehicle and the sound would not alert any potential thief, even if they found the one with the speaker. Apple should have an on/off switch for this or a silent mode option.
