Pleasantly surprising value from Apple

They pop open and use a standard battery you can find at most stores. Additionally they work as well if not better than "Tile" who is the leading brand for this type of product. The official cases do add to the cost but you may not need one for everything you want to airtag & there are always tons of apple accessories from other companies.
