I used another air tag for my luggage when I took an international flight just to have that extra security that my baggage made it with me to vacation.

I put it on items that I don't want to walk away! I only needed one, so I bought one. Wish it was a little cheaper, but that is Apple for you. Always high prices.

It will even beep to help you find it. If you have an iphone 11 or above you have the ultrawide band chip which allows you to find device within about a couple of feet. iPhone 10 and below work too, but ultrawide band is awesome!
