It was an easy setup and it obviously only works on an iphone (apple). Also, Just like everything else you do need to have wi-fi in order for it to show up.

Would be great if my wife didn’t get notified cons

In that regard it works as expected. What I was disappointed about was the inability for my wife to associate her device with the AirTag. She hasn't complained yet, but I constantly see on her phone she is getting notified that an airtag is in her presence because it is on the keys we both share. Based on my research, there is no way around this from what I can tell.
