They don't last . . .

I usually get about 3 to 6 months before one of the earpieces stops working or the inline controls no longer function. I think it's because Apple's strain relief mechanism at the jack plug is poorly engineered. It does little to nothing to protect the integrity of the wire connections into the tip. It also doesn't help that Apple's design is a straight headphone plug rather than 90 degrees. The straight design places undo stress on the connections when your iPhone or iPod is in your pocket. In fact, due to this poor design, I believe Best Buy no longer offers product protection for purchase on these headphones. On the plus side, as you long as you have your receipt, from wherever you purchased (Best Buy, Amazon, etc.), you can go into the Apple Store and they will honor the one year warranty. I mostly listen to audio podcasts so sound quality is not my top priority and one reason I don't want to invest in expensive headphones. I also want the mic/inline controls on my headphones and there aren't many choice in this price range that offer that. Therefore, I reluctantly recommend these headphones with the above reservations. Be sure to SAVE YOUR RECEIPT!
