If you get the opportunity to try it, I would say try it.

Every time I buy an Apple product, they give me free music for up to three months when I'm already a subscriber. Apple does not give the already subscriber any incentives, this is mainly for new or returning subscribers.

Yes I have ones without wires. But, when traveling by train, plane or automobile I prefer my wired tech. This is a pair to replace my last wired which I know I had when I landed in Las Vegas but not when I got off my connecting flight after sprinting (for me) across the airport. Hence wired.
