    My older ( 4th generation, I believe) would not update to more recent apple operating systems and the Safari browser was unstable. I received trade in money for the old unit and combined with the sales price for the new iPad the purchase made sense. The IPad does everything I need well and I like the way it automatically shares data with my iPhone.
