Too bad it's called a camera connection kit -- since this connector lets you connect many other devices to your iPad. So far, all of my USB devices such as microphones & audio interfaces have also worked. Nowhere on the package does it say you can do this.

Includes two options one for accepting an SD card and one for USB connectivity. Both functioned flawlessly on my iPad2.

I had no problem connecting my digital camera, and moving pictures to my iPad2. When I tried a USB memory card I got the notice that the device drew to much power. When I tried the SDHC memory card I got nothing, as others have also reported in their reviews of this item. So off to the Internet in search of answers, at Apple support forum a search quickly found the needed answer. The SDHC card must be camera formatted then the taken with camera can be moved to the iPad. So I can do some things with this kit, but as of right now I can,t use just any non camera formatted memory cards or my USB memory devices. Maybe later I will find a way to use them, but I still feel this Apple device is useful.

This was another great purchase from Best Buy! I love taking pics and sharing them with others. This Connection Kit is easy to use and convenient to carry right along with my iPad. I typically remove SD Card from my camera and quickly add my new pics to the iPad to review them. I only wish you could pull older pictures from your PC to an SD card then to the iPad. Overall though...I love this item. Thanks Best Buy!

This is a very useful and simple tool to use to upload pictures in your ipad. Depending on your camera it can be hard to see the pictures. With the adapter you can upload and view the pictures as you took them. If, you have a large number of pictures the programing allows you to just pick and choose which pictures you want.

Simply plugged the USB version of the Camera Connection Kit adapter into my iPad, connected a USB cable [not included in the "Kit"], set my Canon 50D for transfering photos... immediately all of the photos on my camera's memory card appeared on my iPad. From here you can view them to see if you need to re-take the shot, or transfer them to the iPad and free up your camera memory card for more photos while on the road.

Enjoyed the flexibility of using my regular NIKON Camera to take pictures of ourt newsest grandchild-- and then simply sharing the SD card so my son could put the images on HIS iPad-- and I could place them on mine-- and thus in the "Photostream". Very useful little accessory

I read a lot of reviews which made me wonder if this would work. I followed the directions and connected my Canon Powershot G12 to my new (3rd gen) iPad. The iPad recognized the camera immediately and began showing thumbnails of all my photos. There were a couple of hundred. I chose several to import and soon had my photos on my iPad. I haven't tried the SD card reader but expect it to work flawlessly like all my Apple products.

Very clever device. Comes with two components (one that accepts a USB to connect directly with your camera (USB not included) and a second one that takes the flash card directly into your iPad. Instantly pops up the photos on your card on iPhoto. Larger format made it great to review digital pictures while still on the road. If you're snap happy like I am, it's a great way to delete all those bad shots and save your favorites each night so you don't have that chore when you get home. Upon returning, just synched with iPhoto on my PC and all the full resolution shots were copied over (as though you're synching with your camera). I also deleted pictures off my chip each night (or you can keep as backup). One drawback is that full resolution photos can eat up your iPad storage quick so make sure to slim down on what you have loaded before your trip. Otherwise a great device. I've already bought two more as gifts for other photographer friends!

I bought the camera connection kit for my iPad as I was going to be traveling for 3 weeks and needed a way to move photos off my camera. This kit worked great. I have used it with the SD adapter the most and it is really easy to use.

Plugged it in and it worked right away as advertised. Simple to use, easiest way to get pictures and videos into my I-Pad without needing a computer. Just plug the memory card in and the pictures open up allowing you to download all or choose what you want.

Purchased this while on vacation as I had my Ipad 2 and needed to download photos and clear the card for more photos. Plugged it straight into my Nikon D700 and it pulled the photos off the camera very easily without complicated steps. Did what I bought it for and it was awesome.

I found that with a little tweaking, I can make this device work with my external M-Audio keyboard, and any USB powered music device. It worked out of the box on GarageBand for iPad. And with a little JB tweaking, it also becomes an external storage device. For the camera function, it works just as advertised.

It works perfect for transferring pictures but not so well with videos, I personally had a difficult time uploading. Though I love the product and it's usage ability.

It is a small card reader that automaticall uploads your ohotos to the Ipad. It worked smoothly and efficiently and quickly. No software to load..just insert your card and it's cone.

Purchased this kit to upload pictures from my digital camera or SD card onto my new iPad. Have only uploaded from a SD card but worked without any issues. A nice accessory for my iPad but feel like item is over priced.

I don't understand why would anyone build a device without certain needed components. Oh, I know why, they forgot... No, no..that's not it. They left certain things out to avoid the device from being heavy. Oh, ok... That makes sense... No.. but that's not it either. They left out the little accessories for suckers like me to purchase later and spend more money! Anyway, i need it and it works. However, I wish it was more stable and pushed in further. It fits ok but not well. If you hit it by mistake, then it will come out or becomes loose. Thanks!

Excellent accessory to transfer pics from your camera or SD card to your iPad while on the go. As with all Apple products, easy and intuitive to use... just plug in the accessory with your card or camera connected, then with the iPad's sleek interface just choose your pics to download. No need to carry a bulky laptop!

Took this to New Orleans along with my iPad and Kodak digital camera. Worked great using the camera's USB cord. But I was also able to connect my iPhone and transfer photos. No need for a computer.

This works flawlessly and doesn't need any install. Just pop in your SD card and plug it into the ipad. It will auto load and give you the options to import some or all of the photos/videos.
