An Error: Had To Prove It. 8 Hours 1 Month Later..

Used Best buy to upgrade my iPhone 14 to iPhone 15 Pro. Their software botched the upgrade: did not account for trade-in vale and arbitrarily added $830 credit to iPhone 15. So, when I did upgrade, the site told me I would pay a total of $4.71 per month for 36 months. Instead, Best buys software made the standard agreement of $29 month for 36 months, and asked me to pay $244 for some reason. When I saw the error, I went to VZW on Coliseum Blvd, and they claimed I could either pay $644 to buy out iPhone 14, and trade it for $830 credit, or return phone and pay $244 to be able to get the iPhone 15. I said this was NOT what Best Buys platform stated. I went to Best Buy to find out what happened, and argued with people, and asked for refund. I put aside my run/gym time, went to get the new phone, made Best buy return it> I had to make a video of my upgrade experience on my Mac, and also login to my account on store PC’s to replicate my experience, as the store Manager did not believe me. After I satisfied them I was not a liar, they contacted VZW and made them refund $244. This took 4 hours... After getting the $70 refund (tax in iPhone 150, and promise for $244 refund, I went home and researched Sunday for what happened. Then I called the number given by Best Buy staff to check on refund... ...it gets better, then worse. The person who helped me claimed to be in Retention, and told me he would change the Device Payment Plan--DPP, so my iPhone 14--whose balance had been zeroed, back to DPP status, so I could upgrade it. He erred and added the upgrade to my other line, which reinstated the balance on the iPhone 14, negating the ability to upgrade. Then, he took my order for the iPhone 15 Pro, and had it shipped to my address. I was told to simply return the iPhone 14 to one of two Corporate VZW stores, and they would take the phone, and add the credit against the balance of the iPhone 15, making the difference paid over 36 months, $4.71. ...it gets worse. So, I go to store to return phone and the staff cannot find what transaction the iPhone 14 is related to. I explain to them what I have written thus far, and they claim the phone is still on a DPP, and I must pay $644 to buy phone, and give it for a $342 credit towards the iPhone 15 Pro. one hour in store, and no results... I leave the store and call VZW: I find a supervisior who parrots the same thing as the store, despite my repeated description of what the Retention agent did. He eventually hung up on me when I became irate after not only his not helping, but telling me I will receive a call back in 24 to 48 hours... I called again, and the next Supervisor hung up on me. I get home, drink a Red Bull and take an aspirin for the headache and call again. Same kind of supervisor...one hour and forty minutes, same promise of call-back. I make another call, and this time, Retention answered when I requested a Supervisor and the person was nice. I explained what happened at Best Buy, gave the phone models involved, and she did not know what the other person did back on 9th October, but fixed the account so the iPhone 14 would credit $830 to my account. She called the local store and stayed on phone until and during my visit, where she had to help the rep with the phones MEID and change the DPP, as well as the credit back amount, to account for the error. Problem with Best Buy was their website did not do the Math correctly. Kudos for department and store Manager for the four-hour fight with VZW to undo all the account changes. Problem with VZW was agent that erred did not follow procedures, and made a mess: all others were “doing as they were told”as stated by VZW Retention rep. This was not a good experience: seems a rush to market and system that is scaled to work well when things go right, but is clunky and inefficient when something goes wrong, and it is on the customer to prove where things went wrong to get the company to make amends. It's the current iPhone. No big surprises, no big disappointments. It says something that their biggest selling point to up grade it 1mm of titanium around the edges.

Clerk never asked me what i wanted. He signed me up for new Verizon Unlimited plan, that i did not want!!! Not to mention the new line fee’s, etc. Now i’m stuck with a 1st month bill of $120.00, and a new monthly bill of $80. 00. Even though i paid. for my new Iphone 15 outright on my Spple card , which has already been paid. I feel the Best Buy clerk, from Lebanon, NH , really screwed me. I told him i had an existing plan i wanted to keep at $49.00 per month!

Such a horrible experience trying to upgrade a phone through Best Buy. There were no instructions when buying the phone online how to actually trade in the existing phone. Went to both Best Buy and Verizon and neither knew where I should be going. The Best Buy rep was rude and not helpful at all. Neither knows what promotions the other has. A very poor experience overall. I will not return to Best Buy to buy a phone again.

A few things: 1. Really poor business decision to tie to a carrier 2. The new iPhone 16 pro poor design doesn’t give battery enough space to cool and therefore the battery depletes faster. 3. As further consequence this phone heats up and risks getting burned.

Serious upgrade from Pixel 7 Pro

    Posted .

I came to this phone from the Pixel 7 Pro. I've been a lifelong Android user, except for when I had to use an iPhone 4 running iOS 7 for a while. It is a substantial upgrade in so many ways, both from my previous iOS experience, and from the Pixel. This phone is a different beast than the iPhones and iOSs of the past. The way the device interacts with third parties and external devices is great. Bitwarden password manager went from a frustrating experience to one that felt like the native experience. Android Auto's slow loading and glitching is replaced with a phone that literally plays audio a second after I plug it in. The phone is very customizable in familiar ways. I can turn the left button into a camera, stop apps I install from being dumped onto my homescreen, add widgets, long press, and put the Safari address bar on the top. I can seemingly uninstall basically every preinstalled native app, which is just not something I expected coming in. The build quality is rock solid. Titanium Blue looks great. The USB-C port is exactly what I wanted. The screen is so much easier to read outdoors than the Pixel, I can't believe how bad my old phone was. Aspects I'm neutral on include the camera, battery life, connectivity, charge speed. These all seem pretty good and I'm sure they improved a lot, but those haven't bothered me for a few generations. The ugly is a short list at the moment: the settings page is organized by chaos, not logic. In short, iOS has changed a lot, these phones have changed a lot, and I received a more serious upgrade than I was expecting. Credit to Apple where credit's due.

We've had the iPhone 15 Pro for about 2 weeks and it's been great! I got this for my wife and got regular iPhone 15 for myself, and I'm wishing I would have gotten the Pro already. Definitely worth the extra cost for the camera, speed and titanium feel.

Great Phone - Beware of Best Buy

Apple iPhone 15 Pro is fantastic. Working with Best Buy, not so much. They messed up processing mine as an upgrade instead of a trade in. I’ve spent two hours on the phone with Verizon customer service and two trips to Beat Buy to get this fixed.

Excellent phone! Love the fit and finish, like the new dynamic island, the 48MP camera takes excellent pictures. The phone feels light but solid. It’s an iPhone … it just works!
