I traded in my 4S for the 5S 64GB and I am very satisfied. The resolution is excellent and the camera and all of its features are amazing. I don't need to carry my Canon DSLR anymore.

I traded up from an iphone 4 (32GB), and the first thing I realized is how much faster it is. The LTE is so much faster as well. I doubt I will need the 64GB of storage, but it is nice to have if needed. I like the new camera and the picture quality. I turned the finger print reader off, because it was a hassle to scan your finger print even to answer the phone. I don’t use a password to unlock my phone either because I don’t like to have to unlock the phone to use it.

The iPhone 5S is a beautiful phone that incorporates a friendly user interface, beautiful form factor, and awesome features into one heck of a phone. It feels great, runs fast, and is easier to use than ever before thanks to improvements in iOS 7. Having come directly from an iPhone 4, the iPhone 5S is a huge step up for me! From the perspective of jumping forward three generations of iPhones, I have a great appreciation for the improvements Apples has made over the years. The screen is beautiful, apps run smoothly and swiftly thanks to the A7 processor, the camera is very adequate for my needs, and it continues to communicate almost seamlessly with my other Apple products. I was never a big believer in Siri; that is, until I had the ability to use it. Being able to look up information, schedule appointments, set reminders, and make phone calls by just talking to my phone is a wonderful feature that I've used more than I ever thought I would. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase of the iPhone 5S. While I couldn't say if it's a worthy upgrade from the iPhone 5, it is definitely a huge step up from the iPhone 4 and arguably the 4S. If you love your older iPhone or are new to smart phones, the iPhone 5S is either a better version of the phone you already love or an easy to use smart phone that is quick to teach you the basics.

i love this iPhone, each new iPhone i get is always better than the last, i love the touch id, better camera, bigger screen, faster, better battery life. the only problem i have is with the button, it kinda sticks, not so bad that you can't push it, just not as smooth as previous model, and sometimes it doesn't stick at all.

This is my 3rd iPhone. I had the 3G, 4, and now the 5S. Although most of the hardware and software has changed thru the years, the same easy functionality and quality remains, and improves. Almost anyone can pick up this phone and after a few minutes, be comfortable with it. I appreciate the smaller design, as opposed to the near tablet sized phones that are out there. The 5s is much faster now and picture quality much better. The "finger print ID" function is a little annoying. Doesn't always work and sometimes takes several tries. I'm sure it will improve in future updates. Battery life is pretty short. If I leave the house at 8am 100%, I'll be lucky if I have any juice left by 8pm. I usually have to plug in at about noon. I'd consider myself an above average text user and I rarely talk on the phone. I do play pandora and I'll search the net from time to time. If the battery life was better, I would have given it a 5 star review. If you've owned any of the past iPhones, most of this isn't "new" just know that you'll be happy with a great product.

This iPhone is great. Apple has done it again. A really fast performance from a 1.3 Ghz processor. Don't get fooled by the numbers. Somehow this dual core 1.3 Ghz 64-bit processor is faster than some phones running quad cores 1.9 Ghz processors. I would recomend this phone. If you like androids and huge screens then look for something else, but if you like iOS and you want a phone that works the way a phone should then this is the one. I would recomend the extra $100 for a better camera, faster CPU and touch id on the 5S over the iPhone 5C. It's worth it and you will get most of your money back in 2 years when it's time to upgrade again.

OK, but not a quantum leap

I got a 5s to replace my black 3Gs which met an untimely death after many years of great service. Prior to this, I had been holding out for the next gen as I do not view the 4/5 as a quantum leap over the 3Gs. I loved the look and feel of the rounded back of the 3Gs versus the plain rectangular block shape of the newer generation models. My 3Gs was a 16GB model that was 80% full, so I opted for the 32GB in gold, to get the bling and to allow for several years of future growth in storage space. After loading from a backup and then adding the new free apple apps (Garage Band, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, iPhoto), I discovered I only had 11-12GB of free space left (much less than the future growth space I had expected, so I assume that the new iOS uses a bunch of space, since I had less than 16GB left after the backup restore and before the new apps were downloaded). After a week of use, the lightness and (very) slippery feel of the phone had me looking for a new case before I dropped the phone. Since all the cases pretty much hid the gold tone, leaving only the white face showing, and since the space issue bothered me, I opted to upgrade to a 64GB in space grey to match most of the available black cases, versus the white face of the gold that I had grown to detest, even if it hid fingerprints better than the space grey. I am happy with the decision. The 64GB gives me the extra storage capacity I was looking for to allow for several years of use and growth. I think if you are planning to keep your phone for several years, you need to buy as much storage as you can afford or you will be running out of space much sooner than you think. Especially with the better camera and larger apps. As far as viewing, I simply do not see the hype over the new display. Further, I find that this model is almost useless in sunlight, versus my 3Gs. Trying to read the screen in sunlight is a waste of time. Taking a picture in sunlight is: point in the general subject direction and click the screen where the shutter button should be located. Yes, it is that bad. Although to be fair, I am not entirely sure that this is not a function of the screen protector on the new Otter Box Defender case that I bought. The finger print reader seems to work about 75% of the time, so ho hum on that feature. When I got my 3Gs, one of the first apps I had downloaded and used a lot was the original Siri app, until Apple bought them and then disabled the app as 'not capable of running on the 3Gs'! Getting the new Siri back on the 5s had been a feature I was looking forward to. Thus far, my opinion is that the new Siri app is not nearly as accurate or effective as the original was before Apple bought them. So what's good? The processor is indeed fast. Downloads on the AT&T LTE network are MUCH faster than on the 3Gs 3G capable network. As a productivity tool, the iPhone still excels and allows me to travel on business without having to lug along a PC on short trips to stay in touch with the business world. Battery life seems better than previously on the 3Gs, even when new. I had to add a Mophie Juice Pack battery case early on with the 3Gs to allow for better battery life on the road. No need on the 5s so far for a Mophie case. The camera quality seems quite good and the flash works well. Picture quality is quite good for a phone. I have not taken any videos yet so have no comment on that feature yet. I am relatively happy with the new phone, in spite of the noted short comings. Familiarity with the huge number of apps available, commonality with the iPad 2 in the family, and the grandfathered original AT&T unlimited data plan make it a good decision. Would I have rather waited for the next generation? Definitely, yes. On the other hand, every technology item you buy is obsolete as soon as you leave the store. You learn to live with it.

The real value in this product is the a7 processor. It essentially compares to a 2008 MacBook Pro. Would have liked to see a larger screen size and apple should have kept the iphone 5 vice release the 5c. The camera upgrades on this phone are great! Apple has proven how marketing just on mega pixels can be a gimmick. Is it worth upgrading if you have a 5? Yes if you don't mind trading in the 5 as a replacement. I received a $400 gift card for my 5 and only paid $400 for the 5s without contract renewal. If you don't understand the technology you will not see a difference compared to the 5. Once software manufacturers update to support 64 bit you will see a huge increase in performance when using complex apps. Ios 7 is pact with great features but still has some bugs to be worked out. People need to be aware that ios 7 is like releasing a hole new operating system. It's designed to support 32 and 64 bit processing. I expect to see much improvement as the year progresses.

As with previous generations the iPhone 5s is an excellent all around performer with great build quality. Being a phone it should be good at it and it is, if I have any issues related to the phone it is because I am in an area without good reception. As for the rest of the things it can do well, it does them all with the usual simple, reliable ease we have come to expect from iPhones. The additional horsepower in the A7 can drive games of console quality and will still be fast enough to run new stuff in a few years. As for the camera, it is really good and if you are not in constant need of a zoom (optical) then you can replace your point and shoot with it. Same goes for most camcorders as well. No it will not replace a nice SLR or High end camcorder but it does do a very good job for what it is. If you are already invested in the Apple ecosystem and you are due for an upgrade, it's a no brainer.

This is great phone, possibly the best Apple has made to date. I have owned every single iphone since the original iPhone, and this is handsdown the best. It is fast, responsive, the touch ID works consistently. Size is just about right compared to the phablets out there.

Longtime fan of iPhones here, and this one does not disappoint. I will say, however, that with each new powerful iteration (better screens, better processors) the battery life has been impacted significantly. If you want to use all those nice features, you had better be prepared to keep a charger in your pocket. This baby drains like water in a sieve!

I've owned iphone models 1, 2, 3, 3gs, 4 & 4s and the 5s is by far the best and fastest model. the screen is longer but the actual phone is still slim. The operating system is fast, the camera is great, love the hdr and burst features, quick access to apps, Siri is improved, love Facetime, and ever since i switched service providers i now have 4G LTE and can access all my email quickly or use my data as personal hotspot for my laptop. I'm a very busy working actor and this phone just made my life easier! Now the only 2 things i wished the iphone would improve is to have 2 speakers for the speakerphone, it's not loud enough, and the interior camera should be at least 5megapixel, it's still poor and grainy.

This is my third iPhone and it is the most impressive. It is the most responsive iPhone I've had and works the most seamlessly yet. It is well worth getting invested into Apples ecosystem of Apps and Media. Both are the premiere place that media companies and software developers are putting their best work forward. The phone is beautiful and has the most incredible camera and camera features in an iPhone to date. The speed of the phone is amazing. Noticeably faster than previous iPhones and also faster than some of the best Android devices I've used. I would highly recommend it.

It was definitely the right time to upgrade from my 1st generation iPhone 4. The 4G/LTE seems to be everywhere I am; the battery life is so much better than what I was used to, and the fingerprint security works well. There is a significant noticeable increase in processor speed. Burst mode on the camera is a nice touch. Very happy with the decision to purchase; also happy that the 64G model was eligible for 6month financing
