Apple tried for several hours and couldn't get it to work so they declaired it defective and advised me to bring it back to Best Buy. I went to Best Buy and spent 2 hours exchanging the phone. Best Buy denied it was defective but exchanged it anyway. The new phone is working great. Best Buy was great in honoring their products. The whole experience was rough but my daughter is happy with the outcome.
