I had a first gen iPhone 6 Plus and had been riding my bike when it fell of my mount. The screen was shattered and I knew after holding out for 4 years that it was time to upgrade. The iPhone 8 was my first choice. It has drastic enough changes and performances to jump up from the 6. I knew the 7 wasn’t a radical enough change and the X is just too expensive (though I still think all of Apple’s iPhones are overpriced these days including my 8). The 8 is a fast performer, takes drastically more beautiful pictures than my old 6, and even has nice resolution on the front-facing cam. I do wish that the 8 looked much different than the 6 and 7. I jumped back down to the regular size from the plus and it has been a nice change of not having bulging pockets! Though as a guy it still seems a bit small and would prefer the slightly larger size of the iPhone X. Other than that, it’s the same old quality and reliability that Apple delivers. IMO, these iPhones are only worth paying when you really need to upgrade (e.g. your old phone is going kaput or is broken). It’s a great phone but there isn’t anything magical for this almost $800 phone.

I purchased a new iPhone 8, unlocked, for a friend. No hassles EXCEPT, when I was asked if I wished a receipt to be sent via email, NONE WAS SENT. In order to be sure I had proof of purchase with AppleCare, I had to return to the store and ask for it to be physically printed. This is not good service. Why is it not possible to access my account, digitally, gain access to the receipt, and print it at home instead of spending time and expense driving? The phone, by the way, is, as usual, GREAT!

There are several bugs in this new release of the iPhone 8 such as static when dialing the phone, low volume levels as well as difficulties entering pass codes to numbers dialed. Some applications transferred from the iPhone 5 are difficult to open. The phone has a faster processor which is a big plus.

My iPhone 8 is less than a month old and already experiencing problems with a black screen with incoming calls. For the cost of the phone I did not expect to already have issues thus only 3 stars. Apple support was great by the way. I give them high marks.

I really like this iphone8. I have been elgible for an upgrade for the past 3 years and decided now is the time. After having for about 3 weeks, I wish I would of gotten the iphone8 plus because I probably ill not upgrade for another 5 years. Great phone though. don't know why I waited so long to upgrade.

Not much has really changed from the 6S to this, other than Apple won't start slowing this one down for a few years [hopefully]

Lightweight with gorilla glass! It’s about time. I finally have a decent Apple phone.

Wish the camera had the same features as the 8 plus. I feel cheated.

Works fine, love that it charges wirelessly. Got it in red, and the color is beautiful. Other than that, the only real difference I can see so far from my 6S is the camera quality. Otherwise not an amazing leap. Could have been just as happy keeping my 6S if I hadn't dropped it so many times :)

Had to convert from a Samsung device to Apple for work. I like the fingerprint reader and Apple Maps works really well but in general Android is far superior to iOS in ease of use and functionality. Some examples include double-clicking not working (fast or slow), requiring ApplePay setup, and not being able to easily rearrange icons onto screens and into folders. All of those are supposed to work, they just don’t the majority of the time.

The salesperson tried hard to get me into an XR instead of an 8, but I didn’t listen. I wish I had. I previously had the iPhone SE and never had any problems with calls. This iPhone 8 misses calls daily & I’ve no idea why. It’s very frustrating to hear no ring or anything, and it’s so random that I never know when it will happen. I really dislike this phone but can’t switch until I pay it off.

Not excited about this phone. Emergency purchase and couldn’t afford the 10.

Wish this phone had a spot for the headphones. You will have to go wireless.

This phone has given me problems almost since the purchase. People have a hard time hearing me, and often the sound on my side is blurred and breaks up. I love the phone design, but am not happy with the actual way it works

I had to get a new phone to replace my iPhone 6. I’m not sure why the hype and high price. It’s not much different from my old 6. That’s why only three stars.

I've had several devices like this and previous generations. The specs are different than the 7 but my experience is exactly the same as the 7, I could not differentiate the two side by side or in use.
