Works great and lets me not have to charge my iPhone in the middle of the day. If I plug my iPhone in every night and get a full charge (battery pack and iPhone) I still have plenty of battery throughout the day and night. Pack does constantly charge the phone so I am not sure if that will effect the batteries ability to charge long term on my phone. Had it for over a year and so far no damage to the phone’s battery. Setup is easy. Snap the phone into the plug at the bottom of the case and snap it into the rest of the case and that’s it. Battery pack will appear on your phone as well as the iPhone internal battery letting you know how much charge each has. Once in a while it gets a glitch where it starts using the charge from the phone first instead of the pack. Easy fix is to pop the phone out of the case for a few seconds and then snap it back in. Works great after that. Case protects the phone very well. I have dropped it a few times with no damage so far. I’m sure there are tougher protective cases but they don’t have a built in battery pack so this is definitely worth it. A bit pricey but worth it.

Great case with little bit of weight, but is worth it for a heavy iPhone user, extra battery! Been using it for more that 5 months so far!

Love this case. It’s different from mophie or ones that turn on with a button but I’m getting use to it. A lil heavy but all battery cases are.

Shipping was fast, the case was well packaged, I go 2 1/2 days without needing to charge my phone thanks to this case , highly recommend it

It works as intended last pretty good amount of time. Only complain I have is that the smooth texture has rubbed off the edges making it shiny

I’ve had this case about a year and 4 months. The rubber backing has almost completely torn and come off. Really disappointed in this apple product. Great battery life and easy to use, just poor quality.

Purchased Apple’s battery case over other options because of the “smart charge” feature and how well it integrates with the iPhone. Also looks great. After about a year of normal/daily use (a couple drops here or there), the rubber sides are starting to crack and peel. The function os the case is not compromised, but aesthetically speaking, it looks a bit banged up. Still works perfectly.

I own a Mophie power bank but I wanted to try a power case so I wouldn’t have to carry the power bank everywhere. This case is a game changer. It keeps my iPhone XS Max protected and charged for 2 days without a charge. It’s not as big as some make it out to be. It’s a little heavy but it feels nice in the hand. The only real downside is the price but I got a great deal because Best Buy had 2 open box items for $100 each and I had a $50 gift card so it only cost me $50. I don’t think I can go back to a regular case after having this beast. It does not constantly charge your phone as a lot of YouTube videos seem to think. It fully charges your phone first and then uses the cases battery power, when the case is drained then it will start to use your phones actual battery. This case will prolong the life of your phone’s battery because it is limiting/reducing the number of charging cycles you will do on your phone. Also, plenty of people seem to think that it is constantly charging your phone because the lightning icon is always on but it is not. I reached out to Apple personally to ask this question and the reason the lightning icon is constantly on is because the case is plugged into the phone so the phone recognizes that something is connected but it doesn’t charge all the time which is why this is a smart case. It only charges your phone when it needs to. Amazing case and I have had zero issues so far.

Don't let the smallish battery fool you! Apple has really built an amazing design electronically with this battery case. While smaller than most battery cases, this battery will last you all rayon its own, THEN you have your internal battery to go. It can easily last 2 days with light usage and still be at 80 or so % with heavy usage throughout the day ... the design is also great with an easy to hold shelf and comfortable feel, as well as I have not had to use a screen protector since it gives great protection from all angles. Wireless charging, lightning charging, this is about all you could ever ask for in a battery case! I love it!

After a year of heavy use on my XS Max with Video, Photos, apps, general use, my XS Max battery has taken a slight toll. The battery is not as great as it used to be since Sept. 2018. The Smart battery case that was on sale was a decent option. Worrying about dropping below 15-20% - or a full discharged battery is not a problem anymore with this. I looked at a few other brands, but decided with the OEM Apple brand. Using the battery with the case, charge will first run down the smart case...THEN it will automatically swict h to the actual phone. After about 6 weeks of use, I have yet to fully discharge the smart case battery and my iPhone remains at 100%. Great piece of mind! Few issues to be aware of, it will add weight to this phone and obviously bulk. The Silicone case although giving this a great grip is a major lint attractor, not a deal breaker by any means - just be aware of that. Other issues I ran into, using this with an iPhone clip for a tripod, that can be a little tough due to the new thickness with the case. Even if you get this into the clip, be careful it doesn't slip / pop out and then the phone falls to the ground. Also using this on a gimbal, that simply will not work . Again clip and thickness on a gimbal holder is an issue, but the new heavier weight will throw off the gimbal balance. Also as a drone user, this will not work as well with various drone control holders, even 3rd party clips. BUT it is easy to remove and install, so if you have to - just remove it from the case, use it for tripods and other devices. When finished, just slap the smart case back on. Overall it still has been extremely helpful, no more worries of the battery dying out after a long road trip, and taking a ton of videos and photos.

This is a vast improvement over the design of the last generation smart battery case (I'll take "the rump" over "the hump" any day, and (more importantly) this one has no chin!). On a normal day, of course, my iPhone XS Max doesn't need any extra battery help, but I bought this for use on a couple of trips that would require heavy phone use (especially photo & video) with little time to stop and charge it, and it exceeded my expectations. It's great that they added wireless charging to this one, and though it does make your phone substantially heavier (obviously), it's actually rather pleasant to hold, thanks to the weird soft texture (I forget what they call it), and the way the "rump" helps keeps the weight distributed more on the bottom side of the phone so it doesn't feel like it's going to tumble out of your hand, etc. Very much worth it if you need the extra juice (and since iOS recognizes it as a battery case and knows to treat it as such, you get a lot of advantages over third party cases). I just wish it were a little cheaper. But that's Apple!

I was looking for a more viable option versus using standard charging modules to be able to keep my phone charged as due to heavy usage my XS max I was needing to supplement the charge by late afternoon. While definitely adding weight and bulk, it hasn't been prohibitive from carrying in a pocket. I was using the apple leather case and was worried about the silicone based case but I actually don't mind the smooth texture at all. I haven't found any issues with lint on the case. I love the smart charge feature - the case actually depletes first and then the phone battery so I'm hoping this means less wear on the phone battery. Now when the case depletes by late afternoon I still have a full charge on my phone which easily gets me through the day. No issues with wireless charging at all either. Wish I would have purchased this case sooner.

Absolutely worth the money. It is a bit pricey due to the fact that it's from Apple, but it gets the job done and is very convenient. IMO it's worth the money, but at the same time you can find other battery cases for cheap. It just depends if you are willing to put in the extra cash for aesthetics and functionality/durability. I've had other battery cases in the past, and they do not last very long. It doesn't take that long to charge if you are using a fast charger. The size is bulky, but not to the point where it's uncomfortable.

PROS -Expect a solid 2 days battery life w/ normal use. -Enables 1 day of HEAVY use. Perfect for vacations/events. -Feels balanced and good to hold. -Rubber like material will protect phone from most normal drops. -Will extend life on internal phone battery by decreasing its use. CONS -Adds weight and thickness. (Consider if this would impact your daily use) -Limited color options.

Love the case just don’t like the fact that you don’t have control over when you can charge your phone. From the moment you pop your phone in it starts charging. Not a deal breaker because if you have your phone and case charged 100 percent you’ll have a “I can be on my phone all day” kind of day but just my 2 cents. Other than that looks good, not too heavy and charges fast

Overall this is a good product. My primary goal was to find a case where the hard plastic wouldn’t be so slippery. The silicon on this this is really nice and easy to hold. In terms of a smart case I can’t find anywhere with a description of how it optimizes the phone battery or any other type of “smart battery “ features. You charge it and the phone. As soon as you pick it up from the charger, the battery case power is used first then the phone. Basically doubles the time you’d have on your phone. I’m typically using Bluetooth headphones for listening or talking for work. I rarely get to the phone battery. It’s a steep price. I decided on it so I didn’t have to have a separate battery ready to plug into. The all in one solution works well.

For my job I needed to make sure my battery was charged full and this case definitely helps me to make sure that my phone is always on. The case is a bit heavy but you get use to it after awhile. I love that I can charge my case and my phone at the same time.

The latest Smart Battery Case isn’t perfect, but the tradeoffs of the increased weight and size are not an issue when I need it. I just won’t be making this my usual iPhone case because it makes my device so big and heavy, which can cause wrist fatigue and pain. The battery cases are one of very few Apple products that arrive without charge, so the first thing you need to do is charge it. When the case is at 0%, Qi charging it without the iPhone won’t work. Otherwise, it should work, but if you need fast charging then plugging it in is the way to go. The Lightning port is situated on the battery part of the case so that the charger inside of the case can plug into the iPhone. There have been some battery packs that charge your iPhone with Qi charging, but this is not one of them — it plugs right into your iPhone. However, as the Lightning port on the case is fully capable, you can plug Lightning headphones or a Lightning headphone adapter into it just fine. Would recommend if you are needing extra power or if you are traveling!

I bought this product so I don’t have to carry around a brick all day. Though this case may add some bulk to an already hefty XS Max, it isn’t that much of a difference. With the case on I don’t have to worry about battery life when I’m out for more than 8 hours. Like when I go to University I stay on campus for 7-8 hours and this case keeps my battery at 100%. Another benefit is that once your phone is done charging via the case. The case automatically switches to trickle charging. Unlike other brands which do a continuous charge. That is bad for battery life. Overall, would recommend, although the steep price tag. When you buy Apple, you know you bought good quality.
