Randomly skips when driving a car

I use an Ipod in my car to listen to music through my car's speakers. I found that this player often SKIPS whenever I hit a bump in the road. And sometimes it would seem to skip a song just randomly. I went back to my very older Ipod, it's probably 3rd or 4th gen. Which does not skip when I hit bumps in the road. I did a factory restore on my older player and that was able to free up a lot of space. I was going to get rid of it because of storage, but the factory restore option, connected to a PC, was able to free up a lot of space. Again on my much older version Ipod.

Could be a lot better

I don’t expect them to be as good as a smart phone but several apps have issue glitching out and like kicking you out and that should not happen. I have spoken to several people with the same issue so it’s not just a one off issue.
