Very much needed

Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When my sons 4th generation Ipod finally stopped working, after 3 years and using it everyday. I bought the 6th generation for him for Christmas, he was very happy, he still uses it everyday. We will see how long this one lasts even buying the protection plan. The last one outlasted the protection plan. For my 17 year old this is a commodity.

Great gift for 8 and up

It works great and does everything a phone does without calling or texting and has great parental controls. If your child is older like mine you can download an app like Google Hangouts to be able to call and text back and forth as long as he/she is on WiFi. No need for a data or calling plan.
