I spent extra funds to buy a roomy higher GB storage a couple of years ago until major unit problems surfaced after the Apple care had expired. It was cheaper to buy the bare bones 7th Generation than it was to fix my 64GB 6th generation. I decided to buy the bare bones 7th gen. I have no problems with the 7th generation unit. It works and runs the latest iOS well. Good battery life (about 8 hours of music playback time and light app browsing). Apple doesn’t make iPods like they used to. Sadly, we are in the age of Apple disposable technology. I would recommend anyone to buy a iPod. However, with the cheaper components inside these, I wouldn’t recommend a investment any higher than base model/barebones model of the iPod.
