Not the most rugged, even with a case. Had my previous ipod fail after home and top button stopped responding. Otherwise I am a big fan of the unit.

I had the 3rd gen for a long while and since the battery life was not there any more, so I ended up just getting a new on!! I need it for my music!!!

Purchased as replacement for 2nd generation I pod. Set up took over 45 minutes once on line. The files transferred nicely, but they were not in the same format as shown in my ITunes program. Still working to get that adjusted to my liking. It did work well in my automobile, however, I had to purchase another set of ear plugs, since the original malfunctioned during each usage.. Still have not figured out how to set up the birthday calendar. Good Luck.

This product is what I have always wanted. I can now cook more, I call it my personal chef. The kids love it as well!

If you have a cell phone, you really dont' want this. No nearly enough memory for my library of music.

I only purchased this because they no longer make the classic iPods. The price for the highest gigs is $50 higher than for more than double than the classic could hold. The battery is TERRIBLE! Once it gets to 20%, then it dies within 10 minutes. There is no battery listed on the top of the notifications and on this model there is no way to put that on, so you never know how much batter is left. The only reason you know when it's at 20% is because you get a warning message. My classic no longer worked, so I had to get something new and this was my only option. While there are a few features that this does that the classic does not, they do not in any way outweigh the benefits that I feel the classic had. I would have never purchased this if they still sold the classic.
