It's name says it all, use a 30 pin cable with your lightning port it doesn't blow you away with faster transfer speeds or better music quality it's just an adapter. 2 stars because in 1 year this is my 2nd adapter... living in the south I get it our summers get hot, but my first cable was heated up so much and used so much with bending it basically tore where about 99% of failing lightning cables fail at, the point on the cable before the wires connect to board of the connector. At the price of near $50 I could pick up an original apple lightning cable + an aux cable that does basically the same thing AND have money left for lunch. But unfortunately for me, I'm a sucker for steering wheel controls + song title display in the car.

It does recognize the lightning connection (of course); however, it does not charge when any of the devices are turned off. This is very counter intuitive! Recommended purchase - just know what you are getting.
