Over priced necessity

Found one with a longer n a store in Minneapolis but was shocked at the price. But needed one in order to use my ihome with it so purchased the only one with a pitiful 3 inch cord and paid $49 for it----way over priced but didn't have a choice if I wanted to use my iphone 5s with my ihome.
