I bought it and stopped working within a few days.

I wanted something to connect to my car stereo via my old apple 30 pin connector. The old 30 pin connector played audio and charged. I had tried connecting the USB to lightning and audio cables separately, and while audio played, it didn't charge. So, with this, I'm able to use the old connector and get my phone charged and play music at the same time. It really is a short cable. The other reviews aren't kidding about that. But w/ my previous connector cable, it actually extends that cable nicely so that I have room to pick up the phone to answer and talk if need be w/o disconnecting. AS THE ITEM NOTES - It does NOT play video among other things. It's just for charging and audio. That's it. Oh, and I have an Otterbox Defender series case, and the cord fit fine even with that case. Part of the reason I paid the $10 more for this, is that the phone connection is the same as the Lightning Cord, or very close to it. Where the "normal" adaptor fits tightly to the phone, so you're NOT able to have a case on the phone.

It's as described. I have a dock connection cable for my car stereo. The adapter keeps all the functionality I had before (charge, transfer audio out from ipod or pandora). Some have complained that the lightning connection on this adapter is larger than the standard issue usb cable that comes with new iphone/ipod. This is true. I have a speck candyshell style case and have NO issues with the larger connection, but I can see where this could cause a problem with some cases. The cable itself is only about 8 inches long. So if you're thinking this cable adapter is going to substitute as an extension as well you will most likely be disappointed. The description under specs says that the cable doesn't support ipod out. I'm not sure exactly what this means. As stated before my music app on my phone functions as normal with this adapter. So I'm thinking ipod out function must be specific to ipods. The price could be more reasonable, but I had enough rewardzone points saved up to cover the purchase so it didn't sting quite as bad.

I needed a 30 pin to Lightning adapter to plug a calibrated mic into my iPad or iPhone. I've tried some cheaper 3rd party cables and adapters but they either don't work, or fail due to poor quality. Apple cables always work (even if they are over priced). Docked one star due to price.

Like many others out there I have a number of 30pin accessories and do not want to repurchase them. This was the perfect solution since you do not have to take the case off you device. Pricey but since it is Apple i know it will continue to work.

With this adapter i can still use anything that has the old 30 pin, like any radio/alarm clock, projector, fitness equipment, etc. The cord for this specific one is pretty short. I think they have some that are longer should one need it.

I bought this charger to avoid having to replace all the legacy chargers that I have in my car, home, and at work. It serves it's purpose well. I'm able to charge my iPhone 5s and 6 Plus with ease using my legacy Apple 32 pin charging cables.

Needed adapter for my care which can connect to iphone. Allows for me to connect without problems to my care with my updated iphone.

By having this we were able to connect an IPOD 5th generation to our boombox. Works great

It works for both my iPhone and iPod. Handy to only need the one cable for both.

What is not to like with a simple adapter, it works as expected.

The cable does exactly what it says it does. works perfect in the car and on the other ipod connector clocks and speakers we have. we have different cases on our iphones in the house and have had no problem with any of them. The last reviewer shouldn't have knocked the cable but the case he chose to buy. The end of this cable is SLIGHTLY larger the the usb to lightning cable, so if you have a case that is tight on the usb to lightning cable you might want to thing about a different case.

I mentioned to my preferred BB Salesperson that I have an old SoundDock for an OLD style iPhone, but wondered if there was an adaptor for my new iPhone 6. Low and behold, this adaptor made the old system work with my newer phone! Still great sound from the speaker, and happily my phone plays my Pandora mixes! Not sure if I LOVE the cord adaptor, wonder if I would have preferred the docking adaptor, but either way...I am happy to use the speaker again.

It is just a cable and its something that we all need. But this cable is twice as long. I can't tell you how great it is to have the extra length. I have several of these longer cords plugged in around the house which makes it easy to get a charge in any room of the house without having to unplug from the wall and move the short charger cables.

i had way too many nice long cords chargers for the older apple products and now with the newer updated chargers , my old charger would go to waste but not for long i love how i could reused all of the 30 pin chargers love it so much i purchase two well worth the money spent

I have an old car stereo with the ipod and iphone cable but is is for the old style plug and I needed it to work with my new style plug on my phone. I tried the shorter version first but it would not work without removing my otter box cover and this solved the problem I just wish it had been a little cheaper.

Although Apple went from the 30-pin connector to the lightning connector quite some time ago, I still have plenty of accessories that use the 30-pin. Most notable is my car, which I plan to have for a long time. So this adapter is essential.
