Need this adapter for my old iHome clock to work with 5s. It works well enough.

Works great for connecting the iphone 6 to a car stereo deck with 30pin connector. The only negative is it doesn't charge while it is plugged and it is quite a bit expensive for a cable adaptor. But if you wan't something that works and don't wan't to deal with the hassle of generic adaptors then buy it.

This works well but is very expensive, it comes in handly in a pinch, but you're probably better off just buying a lightning cable

This is an Apple accessory so it works flawlessly and is of expected quality, However I do not feel this is worth $40. $25 and maybe even $30 at most... Go for this adapter if you use cases as the tiny adapter won't work with closed cases.

Spoiler alert: Apple designed this cable to only pass audio and charging options. No video adaptors work from your old 30 pin units. Once plugged in the warning on your phone says: "This accessary is not supported by this IPhone." Apple forces you to buy their new HDMI, VGA, CARD reader or USB adaptors again for the Lightening connector. I spent all day calling Apple who said it will work but the Apple store explained and showed me that this cable was never designed to pass a video signal for the old 30 pin adaptors.... you have to buy all new ones.

Feel it was over priced and bought it in a hurry for my wife. Does get the job done.

Like many people with an iPhone, I have many accessories including an iHome alarm clock, old 30 pin cables from previous phones and ipods, and most important to me - my HDMI adapter. I travel a lot and I keep my HDMI adpater and an HDMI cable in my laptop bag so I can watch media and Netflix on my hotel room tv. This adapter supports none of the above. I can't control the music from my alarm clock, and I can't output video. All this thing does is convert an old 30 pin cable into the cable that came with your iPhone 5, and adds an extras 8" inches of legnth. For $20 less you can just buy a lightning to USB cable. This adpater is simply a ripoff. Don't waste your time or money. The only value this cable has is that it adds 8" to your existing 30 pin cable. I returned this and bought 2 lightning to usb cables for the same price.
