Phone wouldn't stay connected. Need to get an adaptor with a cord.

When I use this on my Bose player...it turns off every minute or so

At my gym, there are treadmills that allow charging only for iDevices that have the 30-pin connection built in. For at least the past three years there have been iPhones and iPhones released with lightning connections exclusively. Thanks to this apparatus, if one's new iPhone is getting low on battery power while that individual wants to use one of the aforementioned machines that are limited to 30-pin connectors for charging, then that person can exercise right away and make the connection for amping up his/her device.

Works for charging and audio playback. Some others do not. Great product for Apple accessories that are older without the Lightning port. Only downside is that is wasn't sturdy on my ihome with an iPhone 6. This isn't a fault with the product it's just the way it is with a small thin connector like the Lightning port holding up an iPhone on an ihome speaker.

It works exactly as expected. It is smaller than I imagined it would be, which is a good thing. I don't have a case on my iPhone, so I had no fit issues. It fits perfectly on the end of the older style usb cable, and on my iHome alarm clock. Other reviewers have unfairly rated this poorly because their case gets in the way and doesn't allow the adapter to plug in. I can see why that would be annoying if you already bought a case, but case manufacturers should take this into account when building the cases. You can't expect Apple to build the adapter around any number of third-party case designs.

I wanted to save money and buy a third party adapter on amazon but almost all those adapters had reviews saying it only charges but does not transmit audio. There are a few reviews that say even the apple one has problems transmitting audio. So far, this one is working perfectly with my belkin fm transmitter in my car (sound and charging). As far as width goes, the adapter is about as wide as the diameter of the headphone jack in the bottom of the iPhone. Lengthwise, it covers. 3 of the speaker holes laterally to the lightning port. Consider this if you've got a case. I'm glad I decided to get the apple version, it works great so far! I keep the adapter in my wallet just in case I gotta charge or connect my phone to someone else's speakers or wire.

I bought this adapter so I can use my iPhone 5S on my I Home speaker that has the older 30pin connector. The 30pin connector on my speaker is a little broken because a kid pulled my iPod Touch down off of it instead of lifting it up but the adapter works perfectly. It allows me to use my new phone on my old speaker which saves me from having to buy a new speaker which is great because it was over $300.

Could not integrate my 5th generation iPod touch with my 2010 Mercedes that had last generation connection. This 30 pin adaptor was the missing piece. As soon as I connected the iPod with the new adaptor to my Mercedes the current track, and album was displayed playing perfectly. So glad I didn't go with Amazon, heard they have a history of selling knockoffs. This was a genuine Apple product.

Well, after over a year of indecision (because of the connector change), I finally decided to upgrade my iPhone 4S to a iPhone 6 yesterday. I have a 30-pin iPod / iPhone Car Kit in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I was afraid that this adapter would not work, and I could not risk losing the ability to play my music in the car. Well, I purchased two of these adapters, one for the Jeep and the other for my Sony Blu-ray player. The adapter worked fine in the Jeep, but as soon as I put a case on it (Evutec Karbon SI Snap Case purchased at the Apple store), the adapter would not fit without cutting out the bottom portion of the case, which I didn't want to do. So I returned both adapters, and purchased the Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter Cable, and that worked perfect for the Jeep. For the Blu-ray, I've decided to keep my 4S and use that as an iPod.

The addition of this Apple adapter allowed me to transform what would have been an otherwise obsolete car charger (which was very convenient with the old Apple charging platform) into a convenient Navigation stand. I upgraded my phone but was able to keep my charging stand in the car.

Not a product I wanted to get, but HAD to get, because my car uses a proprietary 30-pin connector, and there were no alternatives if I wanted to use my iphone to play music through my car. I think the price should be half what it current sells for, but as Apple has a monopoly on this lightning technology, there aren't any options. Otherwise, product works as advertised and I can listen to music in my car again.

I have a skull candy speaker dock that i have had for some time, and I was so thrilled that I can still use it after i upgraded my iphone 4 to a 5s. It works just like normal. (I do wish i could have gotten this in black, but this works fine.)

Not sure why others say it doesn't support iHome and other accessories. My iHome alarm clock and retractable USB for my car both worked and sounded perfect. It won't work with any cases that cover the bottom of the phone but I was able to cut and rig the bottom of my Speck case so I didn't have to remove the case every time (took two minutes and looked normal..). Wish the price was better but I'd definitely pay $29.99 to save spending another $150 on another iHome in the future..

Along with the rest of the world, I guess I was baffled by why Apple decided to change the 30-pin connector and go with the Lightning connector. Their first explanation about speed didn't hold up because there isn't any gain in throughput, yet. Maybe some day. It appears that it may have been a design decision, going with a smaller connector to save space. Whatever, it could cost a lot of money that we all have invested in chargers and cables. This adaptor, while overpriced, helps with that.
