i bought this lighting adapter and it cost me 29.99 plus tax not so bad because it has gold on this lighting adapter's tip because it gives a best concact to charge the battery and from itunes to download to iphone or ipod or even ipad thats why it has gold on it and it's real that reason it cost money for that because i can tell by looking close to see it so some of you guys think it's lousy or poor or anything what you had said before you should think carefuly about this it is a high qualty and it is the best ever but it useally charge the battery at least about 3 hours or less so thats fast than before was about 5 hours so i am so smart than you guys so please think carefuly abiut that next time

I bought this to use on a Sony ICFCS15iPBLK speaker dock so we can use an Iphone 5 with it. The adapter does just what it is supposed to do and we're now back to listening to music and charging our phone.

I bought this adapter expecting to use all my old iPad 2 accessories. To my dismay, I found out that you cannot use it for video output. In tiny writing on the side of the box it states that it does not support video output! This is hard to see when you are purchasing the item hoping that it will adapt all your accessories. So buyer beware!

My husband purchased this when he gave me a new iPod touch. My older mode fit perfectly on the iHome iA5 ; he gave me both several years earlier also as a gift. I loved the sound out of the dock. The piece fits perfectly on the dock. However, since the beginning the iPod would play through the dock perfectly but did not want to charge, showing accessory not supported. Move ahead at least two years later I took a good look at the setup after looking at other adapters. This past weekend I discovered the problem: with adapter on the dock the iPod is not very secure, almost top-heavy. When I held it in place it would charge. Then stuck some folded paper behind the iPod to keep it straight in the dock. That also worked. Thought outside the box & put a mini suction cup on the back to accomplish the same. Bingo! Now I just need to readjust it if I do any heavy pounding. I can live with that. Recommend only if you can find a way to keep your device at proper amount of straightness on the dock.

Bought this adapter after reading lots of reviews. Didn't buy the knock offs because of bad reviews. Reviews of the Apple adapter were not much better, but I took a chance. It works as expected. Allows me to play audio books on my iPhone 4 interface radio, and allows me to charge the battery.

Had no choice but to buy this adapter for my car, which uses a special 30-pin cable. It works fine, but it's pretty expensive for what it does.

Bought this specifically to use in my VW's MDI interface. Does a great job with what I needed to do. Charging and data. Definitely a good alternative if you want to use existing 30pin cables or interfaces. One thing about the adaptor I wasn't thrilled about was that I had to take the phone out of the case. The adapter is a little wider than the 30pin.

I have a really nice little desktop stereo that you plug your iPhone 4 into and it plays music from your phone. Of course now I have an iPhone 6 and it doesn't fit, but I didn't want to get a new stereo. I found the adapter at Home Depot and it works beautifully. Now I can use the same stereo with my iPhone 6 and listen to all my music while I am kicking back in bed.

I purchased this so I could use some of the older I Pod cords I have around the house and to maybe use in my I home radio. When I open the box I was very happy with how compact the unit was and the overall fitment of the plug into my phone. (I took my phone out of my case before I returned it for a test.) My disappointment is that it won't fit with the OtterBox defender and some of the other performance cases. NOW we have to keep in mind APPLE makes the unit for the best fitment for their phone. They are not responsible for the fitment or use of an aftermarket case. If Apple made this to fit with the aftermarket cases it would be too long and narrow to be a "fit" for their NON-cases phone. Apple is correct with their design, IMO..

Hi there, this is a very good option. Had no issues with using to adapter with the current mini cooper iphone connection.. The new adapter for the car is over $90... purchase this and it works great. Be aware, you'll have to take off your protective case in order for it to remain in the phone.

I have one of these for my Bose speaker dock & works great. The only issue is that if you have certain cases on your phone you have it take it off, but that doesn't bother me.

The converter works very well and it appears to allow for analog music through the converter that other brands do not. Works perfectly well for us. Price is reasonable.

I have an receiver which only has 30-pin port for iphone, so I need this Adapter in order to listen music on speaker usinig my iphone 5. If you don't mind taking off your iphone case everytime you plug into it, then this product works great.

The quality is nice, but if you have a phone case the wide part of the 30pin side of the adapter prevents the lightning side to connect with your phone. Easy fix is to take off your phone case or buy the adapter that has a little bit of cord.

I did not want to have to get rid of my charging dock clock/speaker. This product lets me use my new phone with lightening connection on the 30 pin connection device. The only draw back is that I have to take case off to use.

I bought this adapter for a friend to use in his car to play music. Works really well, only bummer is that it doesn't charge his phone because of the old connection in his car. Solid adapter though

Apple is as bad as Microsoft, always fixing something that wasn't broke. What was wrong with staying with the 30-pin connector as the iPhone 4 had? No, now it's 8-pin and requires this adapter to use with the Bose sound dock and other not-so-old accessories. Price is rediculous. It does the job, though.

I bought this for my SUV. The cord for the iPod that came with it only fit a 30 pin and it would have cost twice as much to get an updated one from the truck manufacturer, so this was a great fix.

On the expensive side, but bought it ,walked out of the store and installed it so I could connect my iphone 6 to a Kenwood unit and it worked perfectly the first time !!!! Don't buy knockoffs !!!!!
