I recently purchased two of these one for an Iphone 5 and the other for an Iphone 7. I have a Sony radio/ charger and needed this style of adapter to use on phones. Only was able to use for the iphone 5. The adapter was very loose on the iphone 7 and wouldn't charge. Best buy insisted it should work on both but didn't. Returned one and haven't made up my mind on other.

Does exactly what it says. Makes your new iPod compatible with your old hookup. Con - It does not charge my new iPod Nano

It works as intended, but I've found if you're trying to plug it into an iPhone, you need to take the cover off the phone.

Didn't like the fact that I have to take off my phone protecter to charge it!

My 2014 Audi had an iPad connection that allowed my iPad to be part of the car's entertainment system, including video. When I upgraded to an iPad air 2 to use current apps, the original connection became useless. This adapter solved the problem! I put the iPad air 2 in the glove compartment where it is simultaneously charged and used as an entertainment source.

The Apple - Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter is great for adapting 30 pin cords to the ipone 5's. It is hard to gain a good connection with certain iphone 5 cases that are designed for the Lightning Cable to USB Charger Cord for iPhone(5/5S/5C), iPad(Air/4th Generation), iPad Mini/Mini Retina, iPod Touch 5th Generation and iPod Nano 7th Generation. This device doesn't give you much room for a solid connection:(

Sound quality is good, does not charge phone well. Will probably return this as it does not fit with my phone case on.

This adapter works fine but some phone cases don't fit over it. I was able to modify my phone case to work though.

This adapter was exactly what I needed to charge my iPhone 6s in my 2011 KIA. I would have rated it 5 stars but the pin length is too short to be used with the case I’m using on my phone. It wouldn’t make the connection with the phone case as is, but I made a slight cut in the case to allow the adapter to make connection with my phone.

My goal was to save $$ by purchasing this adapter so I didn't have to replace my 30-pin adapters I had already purchased for the older model iPhone/iPads. Turns out that the lightning adapter requires power vs the 30-pin adapters in order to mirror your display for presentations (VGA as an example). This item doesn't work in scenarios like this, but might be a good fit for other scenarios.

Works well to use my old iPhone cords. This was my second purchase. The old one lasted about a year and a half.

I had to buy a new iPod because mine was so old I could no longer sync it with my computer. I also have a Bose docking station. The original one had a 30 pin connection and my new one has the Lightning connector. This adapter allowed me to use my new iPod with my Bose. I am beyond grateful that Apple made this product. It's certainly more cost efficient than having to get a new Bose. The sound is still exceptional! Thank you Apple.

I needed the pin to use it with a docking station. However, the pin is too short if you have a case on your IPod.

While this product has nicely transformed my old iPod charging cable into one that is useful for my iPad, I also had hoped to be able to use it for my iPhone. Unfortunately, the plug isn't long enough for it to extend through the phone's OtterBox protective case and so won't charge the iPhone without the inconvenience of first removing it from its casing. Disappointing.

Works but to expensive and is difficult to use in my Bose sound dock.

If your device has a protective case then the lightning side will not be long enough to engage. Whoops.

I purchased this to replace a 30pin to lightning adapter made by Apple previously, which contained a cable between the two pieces of the adapter. Now the adapter is one piece, minus the cord. This is probably because the cord would go bad over time as happened twice with me. It does stick out more from the side of my iPad, but it is solid.

This is a nice converter so you can still use old style iPhone products. Overpriced, but what can you do?!?

Bought this 30 pin adapter so I would not have to keep changing out cables when my older iPod and new iPod needed to be charged or songs uploaded. Just switch out the adapter and go from there. I didn't give it 5 stars because I thought it was a bit to pricey for what it was but after all it is a apple product, but other then that it works great.

Previously I purchased a pack of five aftermarket iPhone 5 lightning adapters and they would not work properly with my docking stations. The phone would charge, but would not play music. I purchased the official Apple adapter and all iPhone functions work. However the price of one Apple lightning adapter was more than twice the price of the 5 aftermarket adapters combined.
