I bought this because I wanted to transfer my videos from my GoPro to my iPad, and I don't regret it. It was really easy and simple to use, basically just plug and play.

I bought this to use with a cheap at Targus USB 2 card reader and it works well. Photos recognized it and pulled pics and vids off without issue.
Note that you can’t use card readers that pull a lot of power and the USB 3 reader I tried didn’t work either. Apple limits the amount of power that a usb device can pull. So some testing is in order to find a combo that works. Fancy, expensive and super fast readers likely won’t work. But a cheap Targus reader I got for $10 at Walmart works great.

We bought this to connect a guitar to an iPad using a Rocksmith cable. It came in very nice packaging and worked well right out of the box.
The cable is small and lightweight. Because of the way it connects to the iPad Air 2 (coming straight out, not bending), the outer coating on the cord is unlikely to fray and the adapter should last a long time.
The adapter made it easy to use the guitar effects in Garageband with our guitar. I am looking forward to using it with my Canon camera as well.
The price was competitive with Apple. This item is difficult to find anywhere else besides Best Buy and Apple.

2nd product I’ve bought like this, and it actually works with camera & iPad. (1st one wasn’t Apple brand and didn’t work). Only problem was it kept freezing...might’ve been the high quantity of pics being transferred from camera, or could’ve been something going on with iPad. After 5 tries, I did finish the transfer. One upside...every time I went back again, it automatically knew which pics had already been copied over and which ones hadn’t so that saved me a ton of work.

We stopped using our DSLR long ago because it wasn’t convenient. We recently went in a vacation and I decided to take the DSLR along and transfer photos daily to my iPad Pro.
It worked wonderfully. No more having to take a laptop to transfer photos to. Being able to quickly transfer to my iPad on the go made it worth the hassle of having a bulky DSLR with me instead of taking photos with my iPhone 6s+.

Looking for ways to reduce the WiFi in my house and still go online cabled, I bought this adapter to use with my iPad, and even my iPhone. Works great! One caveat is that you have to use a powered device to connect it to, or you’ll get the “not enough power” warning and it won’t work. I have an Ethernet-to-USB adapter and a powered hub, and the hub solved this issue. I simply plug the Ethernet cable into the USB adapter, that into the powered hub, and the hub into the Apple Lightening-to-USB adapter. Once plugged into my Apple device, the Ethernet option will pop up and away you go. I also plugged in a flash drive, as well as the Ethernet adapter, and my iPad recognized both. Just remember, it must be a POWERED hub, that plugs into AC.
Cabled is more secure than wireless so, if you’re working from home, you might want to consider this as an option?

Simply put if you care about having your device connected you don't even have an option of using anything else. I purchased it to connect my Pro DJ gear to my iPhone/iPad's. I can now use my Pioneer CDJ-2000Nexus along with DDJ-SX/SZ to my iPhone............... pretty extreme!!
Works great though. Along with a powered USB hub this is a necessity in my life. Once again aftermarket is not an option here as the connection is not as snug which could be disastrous.
