Useful Accessory

I am a touring keyboard and woodwind musician and use a number of synthesizer and keyboard apps on my iPad. This adapter allows me to connect a physical USB keyboard to my iPad to play the apps. I have two of these, the newer one also has a lightning input so that I can power the iPad and not have to worry about running out of battery power in the middle of a show! It's not a cheap part but works like a charm.

Works well for camera

I had read online that it could be used to attach other USB devices but have not been successful in using it to attach a keyboard or other device. As others have mentioned, it does not provide power so anything needing USB power cannot work with this adapter. Overall, I am happy with it for the camera connection.

Not Just for Cameras!

I used this adapter to connect an iPad to an external USB mic. (YETI) This worked flawlessly with Garageband! The employees in store also helped me find it, as it was a little hard for me to find by myself, and i had already checked every other store in town!
