Great for Podcasting

With this adapter I can plug in my Blue Yeti USB microphone directly into the iPad or iPhone and record, use skype, etc and its sound great. I can even record using Garageband for iOS from a guitar, mic, etc and it works flawlessly. Of course this was really made for plugging a camera directly into the iOS device to pull pictures from the camera onto the iOS device. Only downfall is of course the price. All Apple products are high and this is no exception. At time of purchase it was $30. I wish Rocketfish had an alternative but this is a niche product and I don't it being sold on a large scale.

The stock mic for both of my devices sounded terrible, so i needed something to connect my HyperX Quadcast mic to it. It works however, I also needed a powered USB hub (Yes, a POWERED USB hub) to help supply power to mic. My iPad and iPhone couldn’t power the voltage power for the mic. But what kind I say? This dongle was supposed to work as a camera adapter, not a mic dongle.
