One of the ways we used this cable was to make a secure connection between our credit card or bank and us while we were using the high speed internet provided by the hotel we were staying in. Our smart phone is set up for use as a mobile hot spot but our iPad is not. So we linked the two together.

I used this adapter to connect an iPhone into a USB keyboard and unlock the phone after a touch screen failure. It was critical to allowing my to backup and restore the device properly. I am sure it can be used for cameras USB drives or camera, but I didn't use it for that.

I have purchased other brands for the same thing and doesn't last 2 weeks, with the number of pics I download on a daily basis. This item is great and transfer is fast. Don't spend any money on anything else, buy this one only.

Works for my purposes. My wife and I like to edit pictures on on our iPads. Worth the apple tax but I wish it were cheaper

Works with a camera as advertised. Won't work with a USB drive. Too bad this USB and the SD card reader are each the same price individually as they used to be for the pair. One thing that's an issue with Apple- proprietary interface.

Works well and allows me to plugin and use may different devices such as a USB keyboard and USB microphone to my iPhone.

This device does exactly what it says it will do. I do not have to use it a lot, but when I do need it, I am able to hook my camera directly to my iPad for emergency backup if I need it. High quality build, too.

I use this to hook up my usb microphone to my phone for recording, works amazing!

pretty annoying that you need this as opposed to just using the memory card dongle that i already had but you need this to transfer videos to iphone/ipad. but it works exactly as expected and designed.

As is typical of Apple products, this is overpriced. It does the job of providing a USB connection for the Ipad. I only recommend this because you don't have much of a choice.

Bought this adapter to connect my iPhone 5s to my Yamaha electronic drum module. Now I can save all my drum kits right to my phone or restore kits from phone to drum module. Works as I thought it would.

I purchased this to help me repair an iPhone 5c. It worked great, though the repair didn't go as planned. I would definitely recommend this if the touch capability dies on your iDevice (paired with a USB keyboard, it allows you to input the pass code).

This is required unit in order to make connection with devices to the IPad and iPhone units. The usb in connection is not available on these Apple products requiring separate purchase. If you want wired connection you will need this or similar interface items.

Great for loading pictures on your iPad/iPhone when traveling. This opens up the possibility of leaving your laptop at home, while still allowing you to back up your pictures/movies if you have enough storage space on your device.

when a camera (Canon models, in my use) connects via charge/sync micro USB cable to the adapter. After plugging into this adapter, then powering on the camera, I've had success transferring 5Dii RAW stills/1080p video & PowerShot photo/video. [iOS8.3]

This is the exact connector I needed for my digital piano to my iPad. A little pricy but hard to find.works perfectly!
