Excellent. But.......
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent keyboard. My issue with it is the cost of it vs the gain. I don't do a lot of typing anymore, but I do love the laptop/ipad dual experience. I think this is well made and a quality keyboard, but you have to be willing to spend the extra money and be okay with Apple changing the technology every year.

Almost Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This my first time purchasing a keyboard out of the four iPad's I have owned. I loved the design but there are a 3 flaws. 1. This drains your battery on the iPad. I use this on my 2019 iPad Pro 12.9 and the battery will go from 100% to 50% from just watching Youtube videos. 2. This will add a significant amount of weight to the iPad. I have the 16 inch Mackbook Pro and My iPad is almost as heavy my laptop. 3. It doesn't lay flat. and does not protect your edges of you iPad. I will say the track pad is almost.

great keyboard for the iPad Pro.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got it all set up and will be using it exclusively for work. So far the keyboard is very easy to use for typing and is a very good setup for the iPad Pro. Very easy to adjust the screen to match how I’m sitting and what I’m working on, including screen work with customers. I look forward to working with it on a regular basis.

Truly Magical
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a 3rd Generation 12.9 inch iPad Pro in 2018 to replace my aging 2012. MacBook Pro. I initially purchased the original Apple Smart Keyboard for the iPad but returned it within days because of the low quality. Then I purchased a Bluetooth Logitech Keyboard. My 2012 MacBook Pro finally died a few weeks ago, After a few days of using the iPad Pro as my primary computer, I realized I needed a keyboard with a track pad. I debated between buying the Apple Magic Keyboard for the iPad or buying a new MacBook Air. I decided to try the Magic Keyboard. Wow, this is the keyboard Apple should have released with the iPad Pro. I’m now retired, but I made my living for thirty years as a software developer. I have spent thousands of hours typing on computer keyboards. This keyboard really is “Magic”. I love the feel of the keys and the track pad makes me forget that I’m using an iPad and not my MacBook Pro. I rarely write product reviews but this is the best iPad accessory I’ve ever seen. The price is steep but you get what you pay for and this keyboard is a high quality product.

My iPad is my main laptop now!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For starters, I am typing this review on my Magic Keyboard. 1st: It is a great typing experience. The keys have a nice travel and tactile feel, and is certainly main laptop worthy. 2nd: With the touchpad, it really makes my iPad work and function like my main laptop. I have been using this as my primary mobile workstation over my laptop, as iOS apps are just so much easier to use. The cons I have with this device: It is a stain magnet, and hard to keep clean, but it is fairly easy to cleanup when it does get inevitably dirty. It also offers no protection to your device, but I purchased a Spoley SwitchEasy CoverBuddy case, which works with the Magic Keyboard, so it offers some protection - I dropped the tablet bag my iPad was in from my shoulder about 4.5Ft and landed on asphalt and survived. Small crack to case but device survived without a scratch. All in all, this device is expensive, but worth it for my use.

Over priced and too bulky unless you need modular
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good not great keyboard. Adds a lot of weight and bulk. No place to store the pencil like you see on the Samsung's. The bulk and weight is somewhat unavoidable in order to get the proper balance. BTW, this does work perfectly fine on the 5th gen pro. If you can get on sale like I did, the price point is not bad. I returned the pro and exchanged for the MB Air 500 gig.

A Team Worthy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If Jobs was here to see this Magic Keyboard, he would be giving praises to the A-Team that developed it. Jobs’ direction had been toward dependence on our digits for navigation and pointing tools. That tactile perspective is still important, but a product like this and the Apple pencil would’ve eventually have to come to see the light of day. That said, I was completely wrong about the product. It enhances the iPad the way a fine suit enhances a gentleman, a gown a woman. It fits and it is balanced. Nothing about it feels wrong or awkward to me. It is an extension to the iPad without taking away from it. I wish this had been the product available when I purchased my 3rd generation iPad Pro. Don’t let the price tag scare you. The value is reinforced by every penny you put into it. It is an investment and is worthwhile. Lastly, my iPad now feels like a new purchase since adding the Magic Keyboard. I thought initially, when I bought the iPad Pro, I made a mistake not spending a little more for a powerful MacBook Pro. Since the Magic Keyboard, regrets have all but dissipated. Highly recommended.

ResolvingX
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this keyboard in August 2020 and it drained my iPad Pro battery at a high rate, so I returned it. Today I bought it again hoping the issue had been corrected since many others had the same problem....and it has. Excellent keyboard, yes the iPad could lean a bit further back but other than that, it’s perfect.

AMAZING MAGIC KEYBOAD
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Magic Keyboad is absolutely amazing! I was in a bind on which product I should purchase New Ipad 12.9 and Magic Keyboard or MacBook and after reading review I made the right decision! You can take it off no problem to write notes and draw, then snap it back on just like a laptop!

Works great - needs functional improvements
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty pricey upgrade for the ipad, and it works great but I would love if I could rotate the ipad so it would lie flat WITHOUT taking it out of the keyboard mount itself. That's a little annoying. Also a bit of a hassle to open the thing if I didn't have nails, as there's no tab for your finger to open it. But performance wise, it's been great to have! Turns my ipad into a mini computer great for notations and/or writing.

The perfect match for your Ipad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This keyboard is definitely the missing key for the IPad, it gives that additional functionality that brings the iPad one step closer to a laptop without loosing the versatility of been a tablet. The only downside for me is the price, but you are buying an apple device though.

Love it, Small Caveat
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this keyboard! While it is quite small, I love that it is so portable, I don’t have to do anything extra to connect it with bluetooth or charge it ever. My only small gripe would be that there isn’t anywhere to keep my pencil safe.

Not cheap, but the best option out there.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've wanted a Magic Keyboard for my iPad Pro for some time, but I couldn't quite justify the price, until I got it on sale. Now I realize that it's worth it, even at the list price. I'm not engaging in hyperbole when I say it's the best option I've ever seen for the iPad Pro. Pop your iPad onto it, and you've got a pretty decent replacement for a laptop. Snap a decent USB3 (or Thunderbolt, if you have an M1 iPad Pro) onto the side, and it's pretty much everything you would need. The keyboard feel is nice, it's not cramped, and the backlighting is very helpful. iPadOS is getting good enough that the trackpad makes sense when you're using it, and the USB-C port means you can keep this on your desk, snap your iPad on, and just get to work with power or your hub attached and working. Yeah, it's not cheap, but (as usual, coming from Apple) it just works well. Sometimes, that's worth the cost.

A must have for your iPad Pro!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a game changing accessory for the iPad Pro. I worked for Apple for 5 years and am in Tech still as an IT Manager and I tell our iPad users, this is a must have. Pros: - The typing experience is superb. There is no better keyboard. This mimics the newer key style on the 16" MBP and that's a win. - The angles are amazing. There's seems to be an angel for every view I'd need so far. - The backlit keys are amazing, can't forget those! - The additional USB-C is a plus! I didn't know this was even a thing until I bought this. Cons: - It's heavy. It will go off-balance in certain scenarios (i.e., in your lap). - No FN keys, not a true con, but I bet v2 of this gets FN keys. - The outside cover gets dirty very easily. I've had the Smart Keyboard folio for every iPad Pro and I swear it never got this dirty so easily. Thankfully, it cleans just as easily. - Cost, typical Apple fashion, it's high priced, but so far worth it. I highly recommend you to get this as soon as it's in stock. This is a must have for the iPad Pro and will change your experience with it!

Great Keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome top quality Apple keyboard. Much better than the last iPad Pro keyboard, which I bought and never used. This one would ALWAYS be in use if it doubled as a case. Unfortunately no luck there. Sort of inconvenient when you want to make your iPad mobile. Is perfect if your iPad stays on a desk 90% or more of the time. Keyboard and track pad is just as good as any Mac Pro keyboard I have used. Most memorable thing about this, was not cheap.

Phenomenal upgrade to the Smart Folio Keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been using the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio for my iPad Pro 3rd gen and it was a good keyboard I suppose. I don’t do too much typing, but the Magic Keyboard makes me want to type. The keys feel very nice, I still can’t believe that this is a keyboard case. My favorite feature by far is the track pad. The old Folio felt very much like a case with a keyboard slapped on it and didn’t make me feel like I was using a laptop. The Smart Keyboard legitimately makes my iPad feel like a laptop running iOS. I don’t have enough words to say how much I love this keyboard, there isn’t a single con that I can think of, even the price feels 100% justifiable and I’ve been pretty cheap lately so pressing the button to buy this hurt a little. One thing, make sure you iPad is running the latest version of iPadOS or the keyboard will be very limited in what it can do. I think I was on an earlier version of iPadOS 13 and nothing on the Smart Keyboard worked except for the pass through charging port (that was also an excellent idea). I’m excited to see how this holds up over time.

It's a case, and so much more!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great case and a easy to mount and unmount. It's a little tough to open one handed sometimes, but i can get over that. The only thing for me (with big hands) is that when the case is fully open and im typing, i constantly hit the ipad when typing quickly. So that kind of is a downer for me.. The only ways i found to fix that is to type slower or to angle it a down a bit more so the bottom doesn't come out so far.. Other than that, I LOVE typing on the keyboard.. great keyboard to type on.. Also the trackpad on this device allows me to not have to carry a mouse in my pouch i have for my ipad. The trackpad is very smooth and is very responsive when im using it. Charging my ipad through the case is definitely a slower charge than doing it directly through the ipad.. So sometimes I charge it still on the ipad itself rather than through the case. I have also found that sometimes i have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to charge through the case.. Even if i take the ipad off and put it back on.. I just unplug the charger from the case and plug it right back in and magically everything starts charging again.. This case definitely adds some weight to the unit as a whole. I wish they had a place where i can keep my apple pencil other than trying to keep it on the charging magnet on the ipad itself.. I've found the pencil falling off sometimes based on how i carry my ipad in this case. Overall, i'm very happy with this case and keyboard/trackpad. It definitely makes my ipad experience just that much better. If you're looking at some of the others out there, i doubt that the experience is going to be as smooth and simple as the one Apple came up with on this case. Even though it's a bit on the pricey side, i believe this is a good purchase for an ipad pro user.

Completely Transforms the iPad Experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This accessory for the iPad Pro is a game changer. I have had my iPad Pro connected to it since it arrived, and it has completely changed the way I used my iPad Pro. This keyboard makes the iPad Pro the versatile product that Apple makes. The keys are a delight to press, they have a backlight, the trackpad is fantastic, and it frees up a USB-C port to charge my other Apple products. I can’t recommend this product enough. If you own an iPad Pro, this is a must have! You will own 2 Apple products in one (Mac & iPad). My only gripe is the cost, but after using it for a bit, I would say it’s worth it.

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was such a great addition to my laptop. Love that it doubles as a protective case. Keyboard is satisfying to type on. Pricy but I use it every time I use my iPad, so I think it’s worth it. Still in good shape over a year later.
