    Expensive and worth it

Obscenely overpriced and worth every penny. This keyboard completely transforms the iPad Pro experience and starts to deliver on the 'replace your computer' line Apple has been spouting recently. It is heavy and feels like it was hewn out of a solid block of iron. Weights like it was as well. It literally has weights in the front to keep the iPad from tipping backwards. Key feel is incredibly good - one of my all time favorite keyboards. It makes a delightful thunk when used on a lap. Trackpad is really really good too. Clickable anywhere and supports all the multi-touch gestures. It would be nice if the ipad was able to tip backwards just a bit, but it is very useable. Biggest issue is that the Apple Pencil attaches magnetically to the top of the iPad and when being carried is easy to knock off. Overall, like many Apple products it seems both overpriced and worth the money. If you use your iPad for any kind of writing you really should try this keyboard.

Just like many, the price of this keyboard is very steep. But I did bite the bullet and took a chance on it. I figured if I didn’t like it I’ll just return it. I’ll tell you this, the keyboard is absolutely great and it’s really worth considering. I think you’ll really enjoy this Keyboard. This keyboard will make your iPad Pro feel like a laptop. And yes, there are cheaper alternative options but I don’t think the other options will come close to the typing experience and functionality you’ll have with this keyboard. The keys on the Keyboard are great, the gestures are easy to use and to figure out, and just the overall functionality of this keyboard is awesome! Keep in mind the case does have some weight to it but I don’t think that’s a deal breaker. The only thing I do wish the Keyboard did have is functions keys. That would’ve been the cherry on the top. But overall it’s been great so far. Definitely worth considering despite the price.

I've used a couple of other options for my 12.9" iPad Pro, but I have to say this is my favorite so far. Excellent keyboarding experience. Love how the iPad is raised - making it more comfortable to work with. Really appreciate the track pad as well. I also appreciate how well the iPad secures itself magnetically to the keyboard. The ability to easily remove it from the keyboard (say for writing or drawing with the iPad sitting directly on a desk) is a win for me! And popping it back onto the keyboard could not be easier. Do know that using this you will definitely add some weight to your overall kit. Not that it's necessarily that much heavier than other keyboard, but it's certainly more noticeable than something like a smartcover or detached keyboard option. It starts to feel more like a laptop than an iPad. My only real complaint/concern is not having a more secure way to store the Apple Pencil. It does attach magnetically to the iPad, but I don't feel that's ideal for taking it anywhere outside of the house. (I just have to tuck it away somewhere more secure - especially since it's a rather costly 'pencil' to replace if I lose it.) Oh - and $350 is a bit steep for a keyboard, but then again - this is the best I've used so far.

Didn’t know quite what to expect, as I have owned previous Bluetooth type keyboards, but this one blew me away in terms of compatibility, ease of use, and overall coolness. Love the touchpad. Perfectly designed for the iPad, not bulky, and provides protection when you close the lid. A little on the pricey side, but highly recommended!

Good option for your iPad Pro. Very responsive trackpad and excellent keys with adaptive backlight make this keyboard cover a great companion for the iPad Pro, including the latest M1 model. Pros: - easy to mount iPad with strong magnetic latching - provides very sturdy, laptop like experience - excellent quality - easy to use on a lap or on narrow surfaces, such as airplane tables - has a conveniently placed bypass charging port in the base of the cover Cons: - overpriced - limited angles of screen adjustment - iPad can not be used flat on a table or in a tablet mode with the keyboard attached - no place to attach Apple Pencil - speaking of pencil, due to limited angles of display, using this keyboard with pencil is not convenient. - lacks functional keys, which makes it impossible to use without touching iPad screen - very heavy - smudge paradise. Keyboard rubberized cover is almost impossible to keep smudge free - even with included keyboard iPad cannot be recommended as a laptop replacement due to multiple critical limitations in iOS.

I was shocked how heavy this thing is. I almost sent it back because of that alone. Luckily it has the build to go with the weight. It really is meant to make the iPad a laptop replacement. There's no way I'll be carrying both just because of the weight. Trackpad cannot be set to tap to click. Does not provide any accommodation for the Apple Pencil. It's impossible to keep it attached to the iPad when carrying using the built-in magnet. There should be a loop or slot for it. Did I mention this thing weighs like three tons? Am I keeping it? Yes. Do I think it's worth the money? No, but I like my toys. Would I do it over? Probably not.

Worth it- if you are spending $1k for the ipad- you might as well pay extra for the keyboard as well. Strong and protects my ipad. Very sleek. I like that you can charge the ipad on the opposite side.

I have owned and tried other keyboards (Brydge, etc) to attempt to make my iPad Pro (3rd gen) a true laptop replacement. The Magic Keyboard has actually caused me to ditch my MacBook Air for almost everything I do. The typing experience is out of this world. The hinge and magnetic components make it feel truly “magical” as only Apple can. The construction feels very solid. Cons: open sides still concern me, it is definitely not a full “case”. I bought a sleeve when I carry it outside. Weight: the keyboard weighs about the same as the iPad, so it does double the weight when carrying it together. However, I also feel like the sleight helps with the balance of the iPad when typing. Price: I got mine open box from BestBuy, saved $100. Still $250 is a lot for a keyboard!

My very first tablet and iPad (12.9 inch iPad Pro) Couldn't decide between 11 inch or 12.9! Lol. Well, I'm very happy with my choice going bigger. I was worried about the reviews saying too heavy &/or bulky. Forking out the moola for the magic keyboard wasn't an easy decision either. Still think it's too expensive, but for me it's a must! Very easy to use, plus protects my iPad. Very high quality. I like the floating concept vs the non floating keyboard. It's very solid & stable. I'm satisfied with the angle adjustment. Yes, its a little bulky on my lap, but not in a bad way. It's more than fine with me. I don't have anything to compare it to since this is my first tablet ever! I'm very satisfied with the iPad Pro 12.9 inch size with accommodating Magic Keyboard

First of all, BBY had the best deal of the year on the Magic Keyboard. Secondly, I had concerns regarding functionality with my 5th Gen 12.9. Will it or won’t it? Bottom line, I have an ESR glass screen protector on this unit. It measures .02 mm thick; the keyboard case fits, works, and closes without absolutely no issues. Yes, its still expensive, but did I mention it works just like it should for $150 less than the ‘new and improved’ model. If you were on the edge, go ahead and jump, its all good. Thanks BBY!

Just had to get the new Magic keyboard because I love Apple products, and I love the way this keyboard holds the iPad, and pencil. They all are charged by plugging the cord into the hinge of the keyboard....charges the iPad, pencil, and keyboard all at the same time. What a wonderful idea! The keys work absolutely the best ever. It also has a pad in the center, bottom section of the keyboard. It works flawlessly. You can almost do everything without having to touch the iPad screen. It’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for on this keyboard. Only bad part of it was that I had to buy the new iPad Pro to go with it. It makes everything work about as good as a laptop! I highly recommend this product.

This was on sale at costco for 249.99 and Best Buy priced match for me. Def helps with the crazy 349.99 cost. It’s not worth it for that much but as the price comes down for sure like for a deal and grab it. It does add some weight to the iPad but it’s not annoying to me. Especially if I just want to take it off the keyboard it’s just the magnets. I love the mouse pad and the cursor, very different for an iPad. Keyboard is great for typing for me too. Bought it because of the price match and told myself if I didn’t like it I’d return it but I was sold within a few hours. Again though, I wouldn’t buy it full price, look for deals and remember best but price matches!

I have upgraded to a new ipad and paired it with this keyboard. I previously had the 1st generation apple keyboard which i like very much. This keyboard is very easy to use and typing on it is very enjoyable. To me it is worth the money if you use a keyboard regularly with your ipad as i do. The track pad works very well and mimics the trackpad on my Mack book air. The keys feel even better than on the other ipad keyboard i had previously. It is expensive and a little on the heavy side but to me it is worth the price. I like the extra USB-C port which allows the port on your ipad remain open for other uses. It makes the ipad feel even more like a laptop, but it keeps all the versatility of the ipad. I am enjoying it very much.

This keyboard/trackpad combo is awesome. They keyboard is high quality scissor switches. The trackpad is what you’d expect of an Apple track pad. The trackpad experience in iOS is way more comfortable and natural than you’d expect. I found myself loving the trackpad for comfortable navigation, especially when mixing it with typing. The folio also balances in your lap making lap use work much better than some other keyboard folio options. It’s also trivial to remove and replace the iPad from the magnets when needed. The pass through power port lets you charge/power the iPad while also using an USB accessory. In short... you do want this.... ...but, the $349 MSRP is, shall we say, enough to make you consider how much you really want it. I find that it is transformative enough to justify cringing and buying this despite the price, but the price is truly cringe inducing. One other minor quibble: an improved way for securing an Apple Pencil would have been a nice addition.

This is the only wireless charger I have been able to find for my iPad. My iPad stopped charging from the cord so I gave this a shot. It didn’t start charging wirelessly right away but I gave it one last shot and saw it was finally charging. Now seems to charge (wireless charger only) just fine. It’s a lot to pay for a charger but my alternative was to have to replace the iPad. Case and keyboard are also great. I don’t typically do a keyboard case so it’s a little heavier than I’m used to but it’s really easy to pop the iPad off.

This keyboard is absolutely fantastic! I’ve been a heavy iPad user since 2015 when I bought an iPad mini as an e-reader. When I combined the iPad mini with a bluetooth keyboard I started using it as more of a note taking device for classes. I soon upgraded to the 9.7” iPad pro and soon after that went for the 2nd gen 12.9” Pro. At that point I really started using my ipad as my only computer, for writing papers, taking notes and everything else. I was so happy when they came out with iPadOS 13 that added mouse support but the only good option was to have a separate, keyboard, mouse, and stand, and even then it was impossible to use in my lap. Additionally, it required me to constantly take my hands off the keys. I know that it really only takes minimal effort to lift my hands up to the screen when it’s needed and I don’t think it takes much longer, but sometimes interacting with the screen can become a major distraction and that is where time gets wasted. Now you might be saying that if I get distracted by touching the screen then I should just get an actual laptop, the problem is, I love the ipad ecosystem because I use the pencil all the time to annotate papers and articles. So what this keyboard does is allow me the versatility to use my ipad as whatever device I’d like, whether it’s an e-reader, writing, or drawing, I can do it all. This just makes ipad a much better device to type on when I’m on the go in the airport, or sitting anywhere else I don’t have a desk to use. I can now clean out my bag so that I’m not carrying around so many accessories but still have everything I need. The typing feels really good and the trackpad is amazing. This really makes the iPad the device I want and need it to be. I love how easy it is to disconnect, there are no hinges or rubber corners to remove the ipad from. It’s as simple as lifting the ipad from a table. The magnets are super solid, the ipad isn’t going to fall out easily. Having a keyboard and trackpad that I can take anywhere is going to be so nice!

This Magic Keyboard is a great upgrade from the previous Apple Smart Keyboard! However, the price is also a substantial upgrade. I really love the design and the ability to recline your iPad at various angles. And the keyboard is a definite upgrade. It is also always connected to the iPad, as long as The iPad is attached to the back of the keyboard (magnetically), unlike the SMart Keyboard that you had to unfold and connect each time you wanted to use it, I had problems with the last one losing the ability to connect after only a couple of months and I eventually had to get a refurbished keyboard. The only thing I don’t like about the Magic Keyboard, aside from the price, is that you cannot use the iPad like a tablet anymore, it has to be used like a laptop.
