Excellent accessory. Very functional though expensive. True to Apple marketing! But saves on other accessories.

This keyboard is great - makes using the iPad much easier. Highly recommended even though the price tag is a bit steep.

I'd read many reviews of the magic keyboard before deciding to purchase it, and after using it for a few hours, I'm thrilled that I did and compelled to write a review. I'm using it now to write this review. The scissor-switch keys are a joy to type on, and I completely forget that I'm typing on a keyboard attached to a tablet. This keyboard has the feel of a laptop keyboard. Where it's lacking, noticeably I'll add, is in the keys that are missing as other reviewers have noted. I would have loved to have had function keys and an escape key. It has above average weight, more than the iPad Pro itself, which makes the combination feel more like the weight of a 15" laptop than an on-the-go tablet. Although it's heavy, it at least feels very sturdy and at the same time, manages to feel sleek. The trackpad is outstanding, and I've used it a lot more than I initially thought I would. The gestures work great, and I like that you can click anywhere on the trackpad. The magnets on the cover hold the iPad Pro in place perfectly, and I have no concerns that it's going to slip inadvertently from the keyboard case. While the magnets provide a reliable hold, it's not difficult to pull the tablet away when you want to grab it and draw or simply lose the extra weight. And you will likely be pulling it from the keyboard case regularly, as you can't flip the case or flatten it in any way. But if you're looking for a pro keyboard to pair with your pro tablet, look no further. If you can live with the price, there's no keyboard that I could imagine bringing the iPad Pro closer to a laptop replacement than the Magic Keyboard. Pros: - Exceptional typing feel and keyboard size/spacing - The trackpad works excellent, providing many more use cases than I initially thought it would - The floating view looks great, and viewing angles are adequate for most scenarios - Backlit keys - Passthrough USB-C charging keeps a sleek look with no hanging cables - Great magnetic hold, while still allowing you to detach the iPad easily Cons - The price, obviously - No function keys, keyboard settings are a bit difficult to find and adjust - There's no way to flip the keyboard around and lay it flat for handwriting or drawing; you need to detach the iPad to do that

I have had iPads ever since they came out, and this is the first Apple keyboard that I have bought for them. I had always purchased the Logitech keyboards because of the Price difference. I love this keyboard. I like the way the keys feel, the fact that I don't have to connect via Bluetooth, the thickness, the weight, and the ease with which you can simply remove to use in tablet mode. I love it. I wish I had been using the Apple keyboards in the past.

For starters this product should not cost $400 for the 12.9” iPad Pro, or $350 for the 11”! Also since the iPad itself powers the magic keyboard case, it drain the battery faster. Aside from that, I love this product. I use my iPad Pro daily for work. Before, I was carrying around a BT mouse, mouse pad and keyboard. Or I would use my Logitech Slim Folio case but I still needed the mouse. The magic keyboard case eliminates all of that! I also like the fact that the iPad’s charging port is fully accessible if a dongle is needed, while charging is done through the magic keyboard’s usb-c port. So far this case is holding up well. It is built better than I expected. It really is a good product, but I would try to catch it on sale.

This is the best ipad keyboard I have ever had. I did miss the shortcut keys that a lot of other keyboards have, but the convenience of no charging, backlit keys and trackpad, plus ease of typing make it stand above the rest. Yes its expensive, but it is worth it if you can afford it. This works well in my lap while sitting in a lazy boy. Viewing angle is adjustable and stays where you put it! It’s a keeper!!

This keyboard works well with my iPad Pro and is weighty and seems durable. However, the screen can’t be turned while using this. I’ve since found other wireless keyboards like the Logitech that will connect to three different devices for a lot less money. If it hadn’t been priced so low on special I would not have purchased it though. This is a good add on for those who need to type a lot

Apple products will always receive a good rating from me, if anything just for the sheer quality. However, after deliberating over this item for a month or so, I finally decided to splash out on it. My immediate response was a bit underwhelming; though useful for typing and other general activities, I found it to be a bit of a nuisance for when I use the iPad for leisure, i.e; surfing the web, social media, app usage, etc. I quickly converted back to my original casing and put the keyboard aside. I have no intention of returning it and will surely find usage for it along the line. But it’s a bit expensive for something that will not provide me with daily praticality

Its scissor switches provide a quiet and comfortable typing experience, but it lacks extra features like backlighting and programmable keys. Its sleek, minimalist design is great for those looking for a clean, wireless setup; however, it's only fully compatible with Apple products, as some keys aren't functional when used with Windows or Linux.

I wanted to buy a macbook pro but i saw new iPad's are out then they will have keyboard with trackpad will be out soon. I bought the ipad first waited for the keyboard and then ordered it and it came 3 days ago after long wait but let me tell you guys its worth it. Backlit keyboard with trackpad and when you ipad just flying in the air. That's awesome. Little expensive but i am very happy with my purchase. Quality is good and you can get a macbook pro in lesser price.

The keyboard and mouse are superb. Definitely a step up from the previous Apple keyboard. The inability to flip the keyboard backwards is definitely a feature I will miss, but you can always just remove the keyboard. You will certainly notice the weight added but it does give the keyboard a premium feel. The cost is certainly on the steep side as well. If you can afford it and type a good deal, then get it. If not then the other keyboard is a good option.

Save your money and grab one of this while they are still available. For me it was a perfect fit for my M1 Apple pro, I frankly don’t understand the comments that it does not fit the latest Ipad. It’s a lovely keyboard and the implementation for IOS now on 14.5+ is amazing. I wanted not to like since it is pretty expensive even on sale, but now I can’t live without it, as usual with Apple products.

Works with 5th Gen 12.9 iPad Pro

Great addition to the iPad Pro. I got this for the 5th gen 12.9 when it was on sale for 199 because it works perfectly with the 5th gen despite Apple saying the lid closing tolerance is lower. I wasn’t about to spend 350 for the model made specifically for the 5th gen. I use a screen protector and this model closed and fit fine.

Honestly, everything about the Magic Keyboard is great. It works as advertised. it really makes doing any serious typing on the iPad very easy. My only complaint is that it doesn't have an Escape or dedicated Home key. I'm so used to having that on my Magic Keyboard for my iMac Pro, that I go to hit it with my pinkie out of habit. Aside from that, i love that it frees up the charging port and it's really built pretty solidly. If it had a dedicated Escape/Home key in the upper left corner, I'd give it 5 stars. Just a personal preference, but otherwise, I have no complaints.

The new Magic Keyboard is wonderful: - the action on the keys is more like a laptop - the trackpad is incredibly responsive - other brands reportedly have some lag - the tilting of the iPad Pro is great and amazingly sturdy - it can sit on my lap better than with the prior Apple Smart Keyboard - you have to adjust yourself somewhat, as it is not as sturdy as a laptop, but much more usable in your lap than before - it's heavier than the Smart Keyboard, but the weight difference goes away quickly (NOTE: I'm only using it at home and have not put it in a shoulder bag for work due to COVID-19 - however, it's still lighter than a laptop, so this should not be an issue - I have the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, so the camera is smaller than the cut-out for the 2020 camera, but it looks fine (I'm sure someone will make a 2018 "fill" adapter!!) Pricey? Sure, it's Apple. But it is worth it. I use an app called Paprika for cooking - the iPad Pro 12.9 and this keyboard work well together when cooking and using this app.
