This is a real step up from the regular Apple Keyboard. The only issue is that it CANNOT go flat or be folded to use the iPad as a flat device to draw on etc. The other thing is that everything is adjustable in the iPadOS. You can’t for example adjust brightness of the keypads with the keys. You could only to go in settings of the iPad to adjust it.

The perfect accessory is hardly one single thing but this keyboard has surpassed any expectations I’ve had for using my tablet as a laptop. I didn’t even realize that the trackpad works just the same a laptop and the keys light up when in use. It’s also easily removable for those times I need a tablet and snaps back together with magnets or magic when I’m in need of a laptop experience. It stays clean and it looks exceptionally nice and the keys have very nice springy action, something that less expensive competitors just don’t have. It’s seamless, ergonomic perfection.

I missed the shortcut keys and the protection that my Logitech Folio Touch offered, but I had to replace it three times. This is a fantastic change, and I am looking forward to getting used to it. I love how the iPad attaches to this one, the color is stylish and appealing.

I didn't really have any issues with the Keyboard Folio, but when I saw I could get this I did. For me, it's basically an iPad charging stand with built in keyboard and trackpad. I'm really happy with it. It's heavy, though, so if I planned on bringing it around with me constantly I might not be as happy. But it'll fold up and I CAN bring it if I need to.

I was going to get an older generation model but once I got to the store, another Best Buy customer was there shopping and told me she got the newer model and loved it. The sales person who helped me also was very knowledgeable and helped me. I love the new iPad! And the pencil I got as well.

Pro: If you prefer a trackpad control style for editing or creative tasks, you'll love this keyboard. The backlit keys are excellent and the keyboard feel is good. Cons: I personally miss being able to flip the keyboard all the way behind to give more of a tablet style. It's easy to take the iPad off the keyboard, though. This keyboard is significantly heavier than the smart keyboard folio. It's essentially like you're carrying a latop.

    Outstanding Keyboard with touch pad

This nearly gives the IPad the feel of a laptop. The keyboard is precise and updated from the previous keyboard. The tough pad works well and allows nearly all commands. This is very impressive. I've used keyboards for typing since the early Ipad, and this one requires no external charging and feels as one with the Ipad. It is pricey as usual.

    Extremely Overpriced but Great Experience

Been using this for a few weeks now and so far I really like it! However, is it worth $300 no way, this thing is so inflated and over priced it’s absurd how apple gets away with these kind of prices! It’s a keyboard and mouse (trackpad) with a magnet! Now for the good: Keyboard and trackpad work flawless and pairing was as easy as connecting iPad to the magnet! Trackpad can be used to open most things (or in games) as a double click which is great and you can also turn of natural scrolling which I hate but most people enjoy! They keys light up for nighttime use and are not too bright and doesn’t change the experience. The Bad: iPad easily comes off the stand if you tap it accidentally the wrong way which I have done a few times now. There’s no way to lay it flat or bring the keyboard behind the iPad if you want to lay it flat and use your pencil or game! Some times I have experienced being unable to minimize something and have to touch the screen (not a deal breaker but a nuisance nonetheless). The cost is absurd this thing should be closer to $99-$130 Luckily I had a bunch of credits and a few gift cards which made it more affordable! Overall: I enjoy using it just wish it was way more affordable and had the ability to fold back. If your looking for a flawless experience with pairing it to an apple product and would like a mouse I’d say get it if you can find it open box or have gift cards and credits! Otherwise try to find a less expensive alternative!!

Apple - Magic Keyboard for 11 inch iPad Pro/Air5th

The Apple-Magic Keyboard (black) for 11-inch iPad Air 4th & 5th gen is well worth the money! The keyboard is extremely thin and the ipad snaps in place magnetically & has a hole so you can still use the camera without taking it off the keyboard. The keyboard is backlit for typing in the dark and the keys are very quiet and durable - the same type of keys that are on the MacBooks & the keyboards for iMacs. The keyboard is very high quality like all Mac keyboards. This is a great alternative to the virtual keyboard.

I love this keyboard so much! I’m a college student and during note taking this keyboard makes it so easy to type up notes on the iPad. It basically turns my iPad into a mini laptop. I really like the concept of it! The keyboard itself is high quality and it easily attaches to the iPad with no problem!

The iPad Pro wireless keyboard compliments the IPad Pro. It is ease of use and the sensitivity of the keys makes it an excellent keyboard. Anyone who purchases one should get this keyboard, they will not regret it, I also like how easy it is to open and the way it looks and feels. The price though was a little high.

This keyboard/trackpad combo adds a new dimension to the iPad experience. It’s easy to connect. The trackpad is skinny but fun to use. They keyboard is excellent to type on. The added weight is substantial as a pro and con. It’s also VERY expensive so the value may not be worth it. Highly recommend if this is the product you’ve been waiting for

Moved from an off brand to an apple branded keyboard for the iPad. It is worth the money. It just works, does not require charging and iPad comes off easily if I do not need keybaord.

This is by far the best keyboard for the iPad. But, my only gripe is that it is much heavier than the iPad itself. The combined weight of the iPad and this Smart Keyboard is equivalent to the weight of a MacBook Air. If you don’t mind the added weight, go ahead and buy it because this is really an excellent keyboard.

So I purchased this because they do a price match and at the price I got it for, it couldn't be beat. For starters, it was everything I was looking for in a keyboard "attachment/case" for the iPad. I would not exactly say it was "magical", but it is the best one on the market for the device but with that being said, I had to return it because it was missing one thing in the design, and that somewhat scared me a little. As someone who protects his devices religiously (almost to the point of obsession), this combo offers NOTHING by way of any protection, aside from the covers. As you can see, the corners are exposed, which makes it easy to remove and reattach if so desired, for other uses, if this thing takes a tumble somehow..well you get the idea. Also, the pencil relies on the strength of the magnet, to stay in place, as there is literally nothing else holding it when the case is closed. When I would slip it into my bag, the pencil would always pop off and just sit there loosely. With that being said, if Apple would have had a pencil "holder" on this case, along with some sort of corner protection, it would be the closest thing to perfect I have seen. To use, simply pop it on, and the 3 pin connector powers the keyboard (so no external charging needed). The trackpad is extremely responsive and literally clicks everywhere (taps and clicks work). It does have a backlit keyboard as well, but the settings for brightness are not controlled by any key combinations like other keyboards for the device...but rather in the settings of the iPad itself. There is a passthrough USB-C connector on the side which is for charging the iPad while it is connected, which frees up the connector on the bottom of the device for other attachments. If one can get past the lack of corner protection and/or pencil "holder", I would highly recommend this. Sure it is expensive but just remember..they do price match!

Great device. Simple and easy to use. Makes my iPad Pro 11 work like a Laptop device without the weight or bulky charge cords. Easily connects to other components and supports the Apple Pencil as well. One charge cable is all that is needed and leaves the connection on the iPad Pro 11 open to connect to external devices.

My 12 inch 2015 MacBook died which I have been using basically 12 hours a day every day for the past five years, and I need a new laptop. I had a 2018 iPad Pro that I basically felt like I wasted my money. Instead of spending more money on another MacBook, I decided to try to see if the magic keyboard would be able to breathe life into my 2018 iPad Pro. Of note I tried other cheap cases off of Amazon, all of which were for basic work such as Excel box zoom meetings and managing Citrix applications. Of note I brought the bridge keyboard that scratched and put a dent in the back of my iPad I primary need needs for using web-based applications and light applications like Excel. The case works great and you can even use the pointer future natively in Citrix. I think if you’re using web based applications and other applications that do not require severe graphic processing it makes a lot of sense to go with this option as opposed to spending $2000 on a MacBook Pro or even a MacBook Air. There downsides: It is not protect your iPad if there’s a fall, I had this happen and my screen cracked fortunately I still had AppleCare and was able to get it fixed I bought a case off of Amazon that allows you to protect the iPad and still be compatible with the magic keyboard. Of course the product is definitely very pricey item and that the coating on the shell is rubbery Which I could see degrading over time But overall of the hinge feature works very well the magnets keep the iPad attached and the keyboard works very well and is a huge step up from the butterfly keyboard it was on my 12 inch MacBook. Ultimately your decision to buy this product depends on how much you use your iPad Pro. If you’re looking to turn your iPad into a laptop replacement this is definitely a must From trial and error using cheap keyboard cases off of Amazon there’s definitely a difference with this product. I would highly recommend buying this product if you actually use your iPad as a laptop replacement, it’s worth the investment Over the cheaper alternatives off of Amazon

Best Keyboard for Apple iPad Air 2024

There are a few options out there for keyboards that will work with the iPad Air 2024 but the Apple brand Magic Keyboard JUST WORKS…. I have tried Samsung keyboards with Samsung tablets and they just don’t work as smooth as the Magic Keyboard. The trackpad is another life saver as well. You won’t have to attach a mouse every single time you go to use the iPad. Go get you one and try it out and if you don’t like it you can return it.
