I often need to switch between using a laptop and a tablet for my work. I have a convertible HP laptop, but I find it is too heavy and awkward to handle in tablet mode, so I decided to invest in this keyboard to use my iPad Pro as an alternative to my laptop that meets my needs. This product is sleek, easy to use, and adds an excellent level of protection and functionality to my iPad Pro. While the keyboard really is not necessary to enjoy the iPad Pro, for me I appreciate that if I truly only need the tablet I can disconnect from the keyboard or if I need to type up something quickly I just reattach and go about my work. This is an expensive product, but I imagine if you are wanting to buy an iPad Pro you are probably okay with paying a premium for quality and brand-name recognition. I recommend purchasing an open-box product. You will save some money and it will function well. That's what I did and I have no regrets.

I knew the second I saw this keyboard in person at Best Buy that I was going to purchase it right then and there. This keyboard is so convenient, sturdy, and easy to attach/detach my iPad. 99% of the time I use my iPad for school so I could not imagine not purchasing the keyboard a long with the iPad.

Great Keyboard overall! Easy to use, very durable. Wish it had controls for volume, brightness, etc on the physical keyboard but still a great keyboard for the iPad. A bit pricy but worth it, if you do lots of typing and like the feel of using a physical keyboard instead of the onscreen iPad keyboard.

Feels great to type on and a definite improvement over the touch keyboard. Since it doubles as a case, it'll also keep your iPad safe. Probably the main downside is it adds quite a bit of weight to the iPad, but it's very easy to remove since it's literally just magnets.

Preferred Brydge Pro+ to Apple Magic Keyboard.

I bought both the Apple Magic Keyboard and the Brydge Pro+ for my new M1 11” iPad Pro. I took the Magic Keyboard back and kept the Brydge Pro+. I have had Brydge keyboards since my iPad Air and iPad Pro 10.7”. The Brydge is Bluetooth and has to be recharged every few month's but once paired, works as soon as it’s opened. The Magic Keyboard pairs automatically and charges from the iPad. I liked that I could easily ‘Swipe Up” and remove my iPad from the Apple Magic. The ‘hang in the air’ design of the Apple was only good for typing on a table. The Brydge is good everywhere from recliner to sofa to bed and goes from 0 - 180 degrees verses 125 degrees on the Apple. Brydge also has an extra row of function keys which is missing on the Apple. The Brydge trackpads is slightly bigger but the Apple has more multi-touch gestures. The Brydge’s Aluminum design feels more solid but also weighs more than Apple’s. If you want to remove your iPad often and prefer the increased trackpad gestures, get the Apple Magic Keyboard for $249-$299. If you plan to keep it attached and like using it ‘everywhere’, get the Brydge Pro+, which I found on sale at BB for $120 last year.

The Magic Keyboard is really unmatched in it's performance. The knockoffs don't quite cut it and have to be charged working off of Bluetooth where the Magic Keyboard does not need charging due to the connectors to the device. I changed the iPad experience substantially. I have one on my iPad pro and one of my iPad air. Love it and highly recommend it..! I saved some money by finding an open box buy at my local Best Buy store and it was like brand new. I guess someone else didn't need or want it and it's a good way to get all authentic device for less than full price. The only downside is the high price.

Initial Inquiry & Decision: To enhance productivity on my iPad Air 11-inch, I chose the Magic Keyboard for its comfortable typing, trackpad support, and magnetic design for easy attachment and adjustment. Unboxing, Build Quality, & Testing: The Magic Keyboard features quiet, responsive backlit keys with a scissor mechanism offering 1mm key travel for a satisfying typing experience. Its floating cantilever design magnetically attaches to the iPad Air, allowing smooth angle adjustments for optimal viewing. The trackpad is fully integrated with iPadOS, enabling precise cursor control and multitouch gestures. The built-in USB-C connector provides pass-through charging, freeing up the iPad’s port for other accessories. When folded, it serves as a protective case, covering both front and back, ideal for safe travel. Overall Impressions and Recommendation: The Magic Keyboard is an excellent companion for the iPad Air 11-inch, combining comfort, versatility, and protection in a compact design. Perfect for users seeking to turn their iPad into a more laptop-like productivity device while maintaining portability.

    Using iPad Even More

It's expensive, and it's heavy. But, like all Apple products it works seamless. It's super easy to just place the iPad on it and I love that it just works. No worries about needing bluetooth etc. I've used my iPad a lot more now that I have this keyboard and paired with the Apple Pencil it's increased my ability to do productive tasks and not just fun tasks :). The great thing is because it is heavy it's easy for it to sit on your lap or you it in bed without it tipping over. The angle options for me are great and the trackpad is smooth. You can tweak them too to your liking. I still use my Macbook for some work tasks, but having this makes it my first choice. I was expecting to want to return it, but I love it. The only negative is the material of the case is the same type used on the Apple Smart Cases which means it marks up easy. I know material was probably key on why it doesn't weigh more. It's relatively minor compared to the trade off of ease of use.

    Must have

I will start by saying that this is a MUST for an iPad, specially for productivity takes it to the next level. I researched options before making this purchase and let me say that this is by far the BEST option although expensive, there is a reason for it. Elegant, efficient and mobile, i will say that it’s rather heavy and that’s the biggest complaint I have, another thing is the size, but of course what can you expect it’s for a 11 inch display but my hands feel crowed while typing i would say that i have big hands , but after a week or so of use, I’ve gotten used to it being able to switch from a full size mechanical keyboard back to the Magic Keyboard without notice. Overall must have, there’s just the fact the you will have to get used to it but WORTH IT.

Game Changer for my iPad Use

The Apple Magic Keyboard for my iPad Air (4th generation) is a total game changer for me. I am much faster and more confident on a keyboard than I am on a touch screen keyboard. The touchpad, arrow keys, and keyboard make my work so much easier. Combine that with the updates in the iPad OS, and I spend more than half my time using my iPad instead of my computer now. Much lighter, and easier to carry when I travel. While I love the way the Apple Pencil attaches magnetically to the iPad, my one reservation about the Magic Keyboard is that while it protects the iPad well, you can easily knock off the Apple Pencil when placing the iPad in your brief case. It is worth it to have to take one extra step to protect the Pencil to have access to a keyboard I love that travels with me.

Transforms iPad Pro into Ultimate Surface Alt.

This is by far my favorite iPad Pro accessory on the market. After using the Magic Keyboard for over a year, the iPad Pro has become an alternative mobile computer when I need just enough computing power to get things done, but I want to travel light. The keyboard is a joy to type on, the trackpad works amazingly, and backlit keys make typing in a dimly lit or dark room a breeze. The hardest thing to swallow with this accessory is the sticker price, which I will admit is a bit high. However, for the amount of utility and flexibility this adds to an already amazing device, I stomached it and I am glad that I did. If youre looking to turn your iPad into the ultimate Surface alternative, the Magic Keyboard is the only way to go. It will really make you wonder, "What's a computer?'

Purchased for testing PDF mark up. Works great for this as well as other business apps. It is a bit heavier than other iPads but it is too be expected. It also does not last for more than a couple days if left on overnight. Came with Apple TV for a year as a bonus!

This Magic Keyboard works so well. The accuracy of the trackpad is second to none. No other 3rd party has the support/accuracy that Apple included. The USB C side charging port frees up the iPad charger for other things. The material is ok, most people will feel a certain way over the materials durability. But for me, it’s fine. The need for shortcuts are there in supported apps. I don’t miss a dedicated row for shortcuts, I’m fine with the trackpad and other functions. No need to do a Bluetooth pairing, once you place the iPad on the case it connects instantly via the 3 metal pronges on the back of the iPad. It’s a neat connection feature. Overall, I’m so glad I got this one over the Brydge option.

The Magic Keyboard is built like iron. It is heavier than my iPad Air. Works well and does a great job of protecting the iPad. There are less expensive alternatives but they aren't built as well.

Makes the iPad Pro as close to a laptop as possible, if that is what you are looking to do. Does double the weight & size. The best protection, without an Otter cover.

It’s dumb, but just try it. When a native built product is 3x the cost of some really good 3rd party options, it’s hard to recommend. That said, I’ve used several decent to great third party keyboard options on my iPads over the years and none are as good as the Magic Keyboard. Fit, feel, quality, and trackpad, it just works and it works well. However, I do hesitate to recommend the Magic Keyboard solo, mine is paired with a specific case that gives just a little extra security. Personally I don’t believe or live a life where an iPad can survive without some extra protection.

The feel of this cover is amazing, the design is very elegant and the magnet is extremely strong, although the doesn’t wrapped around the iPad it feels very safe you get use to it and they keyboard and touchpad is amazing. So responsive you can focus on what you are doing with ease without worrying about anything else like lags and mishaps or disconnects. They magically becomes one with your iPad.
