Great addition to IPad Pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard feels great to type on. There is good tactile feedback on the keys and it feels more like laptop keyboard then any other IPad keyboard I’ve ever used. The trackpad is great too. Again, works like a laptop trackpad. The IPad is magnetically attached the keyboard, which makes it easy to remove and replace. As good as the keyboard is, it does have some limitations. First, the iPad needs to stay in landscape mode. there is no way to rotate the iPad in the case. The case does hold the IPad firmly, but has a limited range of positions, namely the IPad only rotates about 120 degrees.

Solid keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use keyboard. Has a nice heft, balances well, keys are easy to use. This isn’t light weight but that makes it more functional. I like the backlighting and you can charge the iPad through the keyboard - this gives you a left and right charging port.

Best Keyboard for the usb-c based iPads
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing. It changed the way I use my iPad. It basically turns your iPad into a laptop. Pros: Saves tons of screen real estate by eliminating the on screen keyboard Pass through charger Built in track pad no pairing is needed, it uses a connector (those 3 dots) on the back of the iPad Cons: Price is a bit up there (I was able to get it on sale for 200ish) not able to use in portrait mode doesn't work with another case and you have to remove this if you want to use it as a tablet. Other keyboard cases will fold behind the iPad.

Great keyboard for my iPad.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best keyboard I have had and that’s saying lots. I love the adjustable slant to the iPad and rhe ease of using the keyboard. I do miss having the screenshot I had with my last keyboard but this one is so professionally done that my preference for the shortcut keys rather than the tracking pad is almost worth it. I have recommended it to friends who have made the purchase.

4/5 stars
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is really great! I love how the keyboard clicks feel when I'm typung and how the iPad just hooks onto the keyboard. The only thing is that it doesn't open all the way and so when I want to take notes I have to mount it off and take notes with my iPad essentially naked. Its not a huge deal but it would be awesome if Apple could make it so that I could just flip the iPad open and be able to take notes without tkaing it out of the case. Great battery life too!

GREAT
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s pretty nice, i had the one prior to this one the one that sits instead of being high. Would have loved for this to actually sit up higher, i thought it did for some reason, i’ts about one inch higher than the keyboard. Downside is if you want to use the other way, this thing won’t bend backward like the other one, So keyboard stays open the same way unless you close it completely which sucks a little. But it does have a roller pad thingy which the other one doesn’t and lights up. But other than that I mean it’s a keyboard for a tablet. Not sure if it really had too cost That much now c’mon.

Heavier but good quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using for iPad Pro 11" first-gen. Haven't used on plane yet so will be curious to see how it handles turbulence. Plus: Touchpad Keyboard USB C port on hinge Cons: Price Heavy Limited angle adjustment (but haven't had issue yet)

Nice addition to my iPad
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great - feels almost as nice to type on as my old Surface Book, which this iPad replaced. You can charge both the tablet and the keyboard with the port on the keyboard, and it wakes the tablet when you open it. Sturdy and stable for lap use. My only complaint is that as a Windows user, I always forget Apple's keyboard shortcuts. That's a me problem, not the device's fault.

Almost perfect
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re looking for a solid, firm, sleek keyboard case for your iPad, go for this. You won’t regret it. The keyboard is truly seamless and feels just like my macbook’s. The only drawback is that you can’t fold this over. I write my notes on my iPad for classes, and every time I have to do, I have to take my IPad off and it can be mildly annoying. I also hate having my iPad without protection when doing so. Anyways, I got annoyed enough at a point and I bought the Logitech folio touch keyboard case. It’s also nice, but honestly, it didn’t compare to the magic keyboard, and I’m retuning the Logitech case and staying with the Magic keyboard. Pricy, but it’s worth it for the most part. NOTE: in hindsight, I wish I bought the white magic keyboard. The white looks much nicer, but it’s too late for an exchange.

No more heavy backpack
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing. Honestly everyone likes the easy of use of our laptops but no one ever talks about how heavy carrying a laptop to school is. This is light, it serves as a case for my iPad and it covers all my school needs. I love it

Really good but pretty darn heavy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very cool product. Use it daily and works perfectly at my desk. Love the magnetic easy on / off. Love the additional USB port. Could use..... ... an option to tilt a bit more when needed, but that may be challenging to achieve. A physical button to let it go 10 degrees more. ... more integration with the iPad, lacks an esc keep (take you to desktop or out of app for example) and function keys. Cons ... Price. Come on. I really want 2 of these, one for home and one for work. Not at this price. ... Weight. Want to leave it at home and work really because its heavy. For now I tote it around.

Perfect for Zoom!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In this new age of COVID-19, I needed a keyboard to hook to my iPad to do all my zoom meetings, homework, and to work from home. As a university student, I needed a good keyboard and it really proved to be the best one I’ve ever had. The price seemed steep at first, but it was worth its weight in gold. It’s seamless; I love that I can switch the keyboard language instantly, going from English to Spanish to French to Portuguese to my emoji keyboard and back. This makes it really simple to use accents and other keystrokes when writing in a foreign language that I’ve always found difficult on a traditional keyboard. The ability to change the angle of the iPad (and have it stay at set angle) is really wonderful for my zoom meetings, also it’s free range instead of having a set few angles that you can prop it up at. I like that it sits about an inch above the keyboard so it is a flattering angle for the user while video chatting. The keyboard is smaller than a traditional keyboard but it only took me about 15 minutes to get accustomed to it, and now it just feels natural. I also really love that there’s an actual mouse pad so when I’m editing photos, or just surfing the web, you don’t have to use the touchscreen but you can if that’s your preference. I also did spill water all over the keyboard and just blew the water out and it was fine, so it’s got some durability there (not to say it’s waterproof). Speaking of durability, I was getting off a plane and it fell all the way to the tarmac (with no screen protector) and there was no cracks or chips, just some scuffing on the corner that it landed on so it definitely has great support and protection for drops. Overall, really great for work, school, and everything else. Recommend 100%.

Easy to use, familiar to feel.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using my iPad with the magic keyboard made it such a nice bundle, it’s familiar keyboard shortcuts matching macos, and compact design help it a lot. The keys feel great as most Apple products do, and it’s hard not to forget that it isn’t a macbook while feeling like such.

Perfect addition to your iPad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The provides outstanding protection for your iPad when closed and then a sturdy keyboard iPad stand when open. It is always connected to your ipad so when you start typing there isn’t any confusion over what is inputing your keystrokes - screen or keyboard (like my old iPad and keyboard).

Amazing compliment, but at a price...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the quality is on par with what you’d expect from an Apple product. The outside has a rubberized finish that is pleasant to hold. There’s a felt finish where the iPad would lay. The back-lit keyboard is very sturdy without flexing points. It is decent in size and the keys are well spaced. The keys provide surprisingly satisfying clicks with enough travel. The smallish trackpad is highly responsive, and you can click everywhere on it. You can also change it to tapping through options, which I like better. The MK also features a pass-through USB-C port to keep the iPad charged while in use, freeing up the device’s USB-C port. While convenient, sadly it does not allow for data or video connectivity. As a case, I am not as impressed. It adds more than double the weight to the iPad, which sometimes I like as this makes it feel like a quality product, but also makes it heavier than my notebook laptop. While the case may protect the back and screen, the sides are completely exposed, so I would be very careful in where and how I carry my device. I also find it impractical that in order to use the iPad as a tablet comfortably, I must take it out of the case. This can be quite cumbersome if you are standing or walking around since now you either must hold the device with the case awkwardly or find somewhere to place it. It makes the MK feel more like an accessory at this point. Lately, I am using it more as some sort of docking station at home as I keep it plugged into an outlet. As far as functionality, the Magic Keyboard certainly adds quite a bit but leaves a lot of room for improvement. The design is unique in that it makes the iPad appear as if it is floating, making the screen “pop out” at you, which is rather cool. You just want to reach out and touch it (defeating some of the keyboard’s purpose?). iPad OS, with its PC-like multitasking environment, provides a good reason to have a keyboard and trackpad adding value to the combo. Does it make it a laptop? Yes, sort of. When typing and using the trackpad, with gestures and all, it definitely feels like it all comes together quite nicely -especially when doing productivity work. It just flows. However, I could not help but feel like I was severely missing the multi-function keys. Sure, I had to memorize the key-commands or remap them, but doing things like adjusting brightness, volume, and some apps being clunky such as video editing require reaching out to the screen, and I found myself doing that quite a lot -regardless of the trackpad’s being there. In contrast, I never feel the need to reach out to my laptop’s touchscreen. Extending on the laptop comparison, I found it cumbersome to use it on my lap when relaxing on the couch. The screen only tilts to a certain degree, and sadly it’s not that much. This becomes more apparent when trying to use the Apple Pencil as it is not stable at all, even when trying it in tabletop mode. I found it easier to simply take it off and use the MK as a coaster whenever I wanted to take notes or sketch. Again, is my iPad a laptop now? Not really. But is it a better iPad? That’s for sure! The Magic Keyboard simply is the ultimate compliment to a compatible iPad. However, I still feel like there will (or should be) a better-designed keyboard/case from a competitor (or Apple) at a much better value. As it stands, it is hard to justify the price tag -unless you are dependent on the iPad as your main source of productivity.
