Heavier but good quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using for iPad Pro 11" first-gen. Haven't used on plane yet so will be curious to see how it handles turbulence. Plus: Touchpad Keyboard USB C port on hinge Cons: Price Heavy Limited angle adjustment (but haven't had issue yet)

Perfect addition to your iPad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The provides outstanding protection for your iPad when closed and then a sturdy keyboard iPad stand when open. It is always connected to your ipad so when you start typing there isn’t any confusion over what is inputing your keystrokes - screen or keyboard (like my old iPad and keyboard).

Almost perfect
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re looking for a solid, firm, sleek keyboard case for your iPad, go for this. You won’t regret it. The keyboard is truly seamless and feels just like my macbook’s. The only drawback is that you can’t fold this over. I write my notes on my iPad for classes, and every time I have to do, I have to take my IPad off and it can be mildly annoying. I also hate having my iPad without protection when doing so. Anyways, I got annoyed enough at a point and I bought the Logitech folio touch keyboard case. It’s also nice, but honestly, it didn’t compare to the magic keyboard, and I’m retuning the Logitech case and staying with the Magic keyboard. Pricy, but it’s worth it for the most part. NOTE: in hindsight, I wish I bought the white magic keyboard. The white looks much nicer, but it’s too late for an exchange.

Really good but pretty darn heavy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very cool product. Use it daily and works perfectly at my desk. Love the magnetic easy on / off. Love the additional USB port. Could use..... ... an option to tilt a bit more when needed, but that may be challenging to achieve. A physical button to let it go 10 degrees more. ... more integration with the iPad, lacks an esc keep (take you to desktop or out of app for example) and function keys. Cons ... Price. Come on. I really want 2 of these, one for home and one for work. Not at this price. ... Weight. Want to leave it at home and work really because its heavy. For now I tote it around.

Perfect for Zoom!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In this new age of COVID-19, I needed a keyboard to hook to my iPad to do all my zoom meetings, homework, and to work from home. As a university student, I needed a good keyboard and it really proved to be the best one I’ve ever had. The price seemed steep at first, but it was worth its weight in gold. It’s seamless; I love that I can switch the keyboard language instantly, going from English to Spanish to French to Portuguese to my emoji keyboard and back. This makes it really simple to use accents and other keystrokes when writing in a foreign language that I’ve always found difficult on a traditional keyboard. The ability to change the angle of the iPad (and have it stay at set angle) is really wonderful for my zoom meetings, also it’s free range instead of having a set few angles that you can prop it up at. I like that it sits about an inch above the keyboard so it is a flattering angle for the user while video chatting. The keyboard is smaller than a traditional keyboard but it only took me about 15 minutes to get accustomed to it, and now it just feels natural. I also really love that there’s an actual mouse pad so when I’m editing photos, or just surfing the web, you don’t have to use the touchscreen but you can if that’s your preference. I also did spill water all over the keyboard and just blew the water out and it was fine, so it’s got some durability there (not to say it’s waterproof). Speaking of durability, I was getting off a plane and it fell all the way to the tarmac (with no screen protector) and there was no cracks or chips, just some scuffing on the corner that it landed on so it definitely has great support and protection for drops. Overall, really great for work, school, and everything else. Recommend 100%.

Oh oh, it’s magic!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Click and go! Wow! This is literally the easiest keyboard to use. When you line your iPad up with the magnetic panel, it snaps itself right in and is instantly ready to go to work. I love the backlit keys that seem to know exactly when you need them, too. Very convenient addition, as well as the trackpad that allows you to make your selection from anywhere on it- not just the bottom “strip” section. I also like the added USB-C charging port on the left side hinge for charging while working in an area where plugging directly into the iPad itself would be awkward on the right. This would be absolutely 5-star perfect IF: 1. It didn’t drain the iPad battery so quickly and had a power source of its own. 2. It had function keys (seriously guys, where are they?) 3. It was more versatile for angles- it is a pain to write on with your stylus. It would be awesome even if it just allowed to fold all the way flat like an open trapper keeper. 4. It had a way to *securely* hold the Apple Pencil. This is the most egregious shortcoming on something this pricey. At $129 retail for that little tool, you don’t want to risk breaking it or losing it when it inevitably is knocked from the magnetic charging area. To be honest, while this keyboard is way cool, I would NOT recommend it for the retail price that it is selling for. I received such a great deal on mine that it should be a crime, and that is why I bought it. I DO love it and use it every day, but if the above 4 issues were remedied then it would be worth what Apple is asking. … and THAT is my honest review.

Amazing compliment, but at a price...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the quality is on par with what you’d expect from an Apple product. The outside has a rubberized finish that is pleasant to hold. There’s a felt finish where the iPad would lay. The back-lit keyboard is very sturdy without flexing points. It is decent in size and the keys are well spaced. The keys provide surprisingly satisfying clicks with enough travel. The smallish trackpad is highly responsive, and you can click everywhere on it. You can also change it to tapping through options, which I like better. The MK also features a pass-through USB-C port to keep the iPad charged while in use, freeing up the device’s USB-C port. While convenient, sadly it does not allow for data or video connectivity. As a case, I am not as impressed. It adds more than double the weight to the iPad, which sometimes I like as this makes it feel like a quality product, but also makes it heavier than my notebook laptop. While the case may protect the back and screen, the sides are completely exposed, so I would be very careful in where and how I carry my device. I also find it impractical that in order to use the iPad as a tablet comfortably, I must take it out of the case. This can be quite cumbersome if you are standing or walking around since now you either must hold the device with the case awkwardly or find somewhere to place it. It makes the MK feel more like an accessory at this point. Lately, I am using it more as some sort of docking station at home as I keep it plugged into an outlet. As far as functionality, the Magic Keyboard certainly adds quite a bit but leaves a lot of room for improvement. The design is unique in that it makes the iPad appear as if it is floating, making the screen “pop out” at you, which is rather cool. You just want to reach out and touch it (defeating some of the keyboard’s purpose?). iPad OS, with its PC-like multitasking environment, provides a good reason to have a keyboard and trackpad adding value to the combo. Does it make it a laptop? Yes, sort of. When typing and using the trackpad, with gestures and all, it definitely feels like it all comes together quite nicely -especially when doing productivity work. It just flows. However, I could not help but feel like I was severely missing the multi-function keys. Sure, I had to memorize the key-commands or remap them, but doing things like adjusting brightness, volume, and some apps being clunky such as video editing require reaching out to the screen, and I found myself doing that quite a lot -regardless of the trackpad’s being there. In contrast, I never feel the need to reach out to my laptop’s touchscreen. Extending on the laptop comparison, I found it cumbersome to use it on my lap when relaxing on the couch. The screen only tilts to a certain degree, and sadly it’s not that much. This becomes more apparent when trying to use the Apple Pencil as it is not stable at all, even when trying it in tabletop mode. I found it easier to simply take it off and use the MK as a coaster whenever I wanted to take notes or sketch. Again, is my iPad a laptop now? Not really. But is it a better iPad? That’s for sure! The Magic Keyboard simply is the ultimate compliment to a compatible iPad. However, I still feel like there will (or should be) a better-designed keyboard/case from a competitor (or Apple) at a much better value. As it stands, it is hard to justify the price tag -unless you are dependent on the iPad as your main source of productivity.

Enhanced the IPad experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this along with the IPad Pro 11’. The product is well designed and makes the IPad feel a bit more like an actual laptop. The design and the quality of the components of the product are top quality. Kudos to the apple engineers who designed and developed the magic keyboard. My only complaint is the price tag of the product. With a $300 price tag for the 11’ and the $100+ for the pen, yes you are paying for quality and design, but it doesn’t blunt the fact that you have to spend another $500 to get the full functionality of the IPad.

Fantastic product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So helpful! Doubles as a keyboard and a case for my iPad. Easy to connect and detach. I absolutely love the light on the keyboard so I can see the what I am typing. It makes it easier for me to see with my bad eyesight and when I need to do some work at night or in dark places (like airplanes) I am able to do so without any interruption to others.

top tier unnecessary but useful tool.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the keys are amazing. better then most keyboards I have used before. the price is very steep but its not Bluetooth so there is zero delay in anything and you don't need to worry about a lot of the things that come with off brand products. I would recommend getting a decal to cover the top and bottom if you plan on longtime use and use outside of your home, it tends to scuff easy and because its apple, its tough to clean. DeBrand has some good ones, I use the lavender pastel skin. works great.

High priced but so useful!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had an iPad for years but this keyboard has transformed my new iPad to an invaluable device I carry with me everywhere. I love that it acts like a laptop when I want one, but it is so easy to just lift my iPad off and use it as a tablet any time I want the. Pop it back on and shut it up and go. It’s a case a keyboard a laptop. I was able to get an open box item at a reduced cost which was in perfect condition and I’m really glad I did.

Overall an excellent keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great keyboard. Well made, rugged, excellent keyboard, and the trackpad is nice. Keys are backlit as well. Wish it had a function key row though as my previous keyboard had that and I miss that. The tablet is magnetically attached which is nice that you can easily remove it, but I find I need to be careful since I’ve almost had it slip off a couple times when opening it. It is kinda heavy but that doesn’t bother me. I prefer having the solid construction with added weight that this keyboard has over something lighter that is flimsy.
