This keyboard is a joy to type on with great key travel and sufficient spacing between the keys. I also love the trackpad, which is small but performs beautifully. I get all the viewing angles I need for my different usage scenarios. Some reviews on YouTube made me worry that it would be too heavy for my liking, but it turned out to be still comfortably light and portable. It’s expensive but it’s well worth it for me.

Ok, the good first.. this thing has a truly premium feel. Regardless of your opinion of Apple as a company, one thing they do well is make devices that just feel like they’re a cut above anything else and the Magic Keyboard is no exception. The keys feel really nice, it doesn’t feel like a cheap membrane keyboard. It uses Scissor Style switches with a really solid feel. The spacing is just enough to make it so your hands aren’t cramped and can type at your full speeds. The illumination ranges from Off to Dimly Lit all the way up to downright bright. It should be pretty easy for anyone to set the lighting how they want it. The iPad attaches magnetically and it detects and uses the keyboard automatically with no cables and the tablet doesn’t even need to have bluetooth turned on. The spine of the case holds a USB Type C Port that can be used for powering the laptop, but the keyboard mounted USB will not transfer data so you will have to plug into the iPad itself to do PC backups to iTunes. The only real downside is the price. While it’s a great product in every way, $300 for a keyboard is tough to swallow. Ultimately, I decided it was worth it since it basically turns an iPad into a small factor laptop and really adds a new dimension of function to the iPad. It’s a great product, I just would prefer it wasn’t so expensive. This review was typed on the Magic Keyboard.

Yes it is expensive, but I have personally tried other third party keyboard cases and none compare to this. If you are on the fence about buying apple magic keyboard case vs a third party one, get the apple magic keyboard case. The third party cases are good but not like the apple magic keyboard case. I was one of the people who did not want to spend the money, but I ended up spending the same amount of money as the this one was. The apple magic keyboard (1st gen) is meant for all the ipads from 2018 to present. One main reason i ended up returning third party ones, they were bluetooth, which drains the ipad battery even more. The apple MK is smart-pin connection, therefore not draining or using nearly as much as a bluetooth case. The reason I got this MK vs the new MK was the simple fact that the edge (where the charger connects to) is flat on the 1st gen and not flat on the 2nd gen. You are not going to have function buttons, but you have to remember this is an ipad, not a macbook. I will leave that at that. Hopefully this helps someone looking into this as much as I have.

I owned the smart folio for a long time, refused to pay the high premium for this keyboard. However, 2 things made me give this a try. My iPad kept falling on its back when I put it on my lap forcing me to put pressure on the keyboard while typing, and I wanted to have the option to work with the lights off after my wife went to sleep. And this thing worked great! It's super stable and the backlit feature is phenomenal. It is a little heavier than the smart folio and you need to take the iPad off the keayboard to use it in vertical mode. Battery has not been an issue. I would definitely recommend it for the right reasons. Smart folio is also great. It all depends on how or what you use your iPad for.

This keyboard is terrific!. It acts as a two-sided cover, but more importantly, it synchs automatically to the iPad as soon as you open it without you doing a thing. The keyboard is the same or better than a laptop keyboard, and it includes a touch pad. It's a bit pricey for an accessory, but I feel it is well worth every penny spent.

This product has been great for me. It makes typing and navigating my iPad pro very quick and seemless. Video editing has been a better experience since I started using the product and I find myself being more productive with it. It gives off that compact laptop feel and is portable. The magnets holding the ipad are very strong and the case itself has weight to it. I highly recommend this product!

This seriously has to be the most I have ever used an accessory. The thing is, they call it the Magic Keyboard for a reason. It quite literally feels like magic, or at least something that has not been matched. The mousepad is the perfect size, keyboard is nice, compact and has an impressive backlight! Apple has outdone itself in my opinion. The magnet is both strong but not so strong that it is hard to take the IPAD off of the holder. The only thing I didn’t like is the limited angle adjustment. It doesn’t bother me too much, but sometimes I would like to get a wider angle to view the IPAD from. Other than that, the Magic Keyboard gives you the power of a MacBook while the IPAD gives you the mobile component and together it seamlessly blends both together, opening up a world of possibilities.

So bought this because I Apple products are normally pretty solid but I’ve never been impressed by their keyboard accessories. This one looks like they didn’t hold back though. USB C port was a nice touch. Works great. Key travel and typing experience is much more like a Mac or PC now. No longer that weird butterfly keystroke their other keyboard folios have. Backlit key are clear, and adjust based on lighting. Works great Trackpad is high quality. Works well, options in the settings menu for tap or press - that was a nice touch It is heavy, heavier than the iPad itself, but it is solid. I have no worries about this breaking or not being able to hold up I thought the cantilever would fold back a little more. It’s still acceptable, but would be nice if it folder back about another 1/2 inch or so. All good though. Typing experience is a complete joy and the magnetic attachment is solid. I don’t worry about the iPad sliding off. It’s Apple, so it’s $300. They can get away with it because it’s Apple, but the experience is solid. Love it and glad I could afford to buy it.

No other 3rd party keyboard can do it like apple can. A little heavy but its manageable for on the go. The tilt is super cool, just a great addition to the ecosystem

Well worth the money. I was able to use the Best Buy price match guarantee because Walmart was offering a super low price for the Magic Keyboard. Great purchase, especially considering that I purchased this well under the normal pricing. My only gripe about the magic keyboard is that when you use the iPad as a tablet there is no protection for it.

The Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air 11” is a game-changer! The typing experience is smooth and responsive, and the backlit keys are perfect for low-light environments. The magnetic attachment is strong, and the floating design adds a modern touch. It’s pricey but worth it for the premium build and functionality. Highly recommended for boosting productivity!

When I replaced my 2017 iPad Pro with the new M1 model, I also replaced my excellent Logitech folio with the Magic Keyboard. As much as I liked my Logitech, I like the Apple product better, and find that I am using my iPad more often. I can balance the iPad on my lap, which is enormously useful both for web surfing and for taking meeting notes.
