Never used any other folio keyboard to compare to, but this one is great. Great keytravel, feels very comfortable to type with. Trackpad with gestures makes using the touchscreen optional. Only downside is that it makes the tablet a bit heavy but I'll take the tradeoff.

The keyboard works great and the case does a good job of protecting. Down one star bc the case is a dust magnet and scuffs up very easily.

Apple - Magic Keyboard for 11 inch iPad Pro/Air5th

The Apple-Magic Keyboard (black) for 11-inch iPad Air 4th & 5th gen is well worth the money! The keyboard is extremely thin and the ipad snaps in place magnetically & has a hole so you can still use the camera without taking it off the keyboard. The keyboard is backlit for typing in the dark and the keys are very quiet and durable - the same type of keys that are on the MacBooks & the keyboards for iMacs. The keyboard is very high quality like all Mac keyboards. This is a great alternative to the virtual keyboard.

This product turn your iPad into a laptop. I wish I had this when I was in college because the ease of use and form factor is top notch. Internet research and doing task that involve typing makes my iPad feel elite. This a great addition to your iPad if you travel.

Quality is very good. Typing is easy with it. However, you cannot use only the tablet with the cover. You need to take it out of the case to use the tablet alone. And this withdrawal is not practical, it needs to be undocked. With that, I had to buy a second cover for when I want to use only the tablet.

    Had my doubts

...that this keyboard would be worth the money (over the cost of the smart folio keyboard). As soon as I tried the trackpad, though, I was convinced--well, that is, once I figured out the iPad setting that allowed me to set (what they rather judgmentally call) "unnatural" scrolling when using a trackpad. (What can I say, it comes more naturally to me and I have it set the same way on my MacBook Pro.) Probably not worth it to everyone, but one of the things that annoyed me about using a folio keyboard was having to go back and forth between typing and screen taps. This solves that problem. There isn't a HUGE range of viewing angles, but sufficient for most purposes. I'm sure the typing experience is much better on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro than it is on my 11-inch (not QUITE a full-sized keyboard), but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Big improvement, though, over the smart folio keyboard--if the features are worth the extra cost to you.

There is a reason they call it a Magic Keyboard with the easy setup and power integration for charging is perfect. Great look and feel key board.

This keyboard has a good trackpad and has stood the test of time so for me. I like how you can charge the iPad through the case and leave the port open for hard drives or other accessories. I even spilled water on it once and it still works! I just don’t like the high price tag.

Game changer for the iPad in my opinion. The trackpad is incredibly responsive; the keys have just the right amount of depth and travel; folds up nice; and offers decent protection for the iPad. My only wish is that it rotated so you could type while your iPad is vertical.

Honestly as a student, this is a necessity. Notes are so easy to make and typing with the keyboard is a satisfying and enjoyable experience. I've written many papers with the keyboard and honestly prefer it to my desktop keyboard. I think the one thing I would change is to make the device easier to open like with an indentation or something, currently you just have to kind of grab it by the edge.

Works great on my iPad Air 5th generation. Easy to use when traveling. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star? The is no place to store my stylus pen when traveling. It would nice if they had one so I don't have to store it separately. Other than that works as an Apple product should.

If you are all about the Apple ecosystem, don’t care about extra shortcuts on either cheaper keyboards, etc and have an iPad Pro 11 (fits the new iPad Air 4th gen 2020 too), this keyboard is darned awesome. Sits on your lap with no worries, the angles afforded by it are superb, and the typing is top notch. The only knock on this thing, like apple products tend to be, is expense. Beyond that, if ya got it (the $), get it.

It works great for productivity. Also it’s light weight. The only con is using the Apple Pencil and having to take it out of the keyboard.

So used to have a 3rd party keyboard and that was nice but only lasted about 3 months. Then got the folio keyboard from apple, been using it for a while with 1st gen 11” iPad Pro and worked fine, keys are they way they are, either you’ll like them or not. But the magic keyboard is nice, really nice. Same keyboard mechanism as the new MacBooks and the track pad works really well. The usb c charge port on the keyboard comes in handy when the iPad needs a charge while using the keyboard, instead of using the charge port on the iPad itself, which makes things more annoying then they should be, every thing is out of the way and makes for a nice experience. The back lit keys are a nice addition, yeah 3rd party has them but apple products just work with little to no fuss. If you’re in the market of a nice keyboard for your iPad Pro and have the money to spend, the magic keyboard is very worth it. Best keyboard I’ve used for this iPad by a long shot.

This Magic Keyboard is an amazing companion for iPad Pro. I have the best typing experience ever on my iPad. With a new floating cantilever design, iPad Pro attaches magnetically and allows me to smoothly adjust to the perfect viewing angle for me.

I really like having an almost full-sized keyboard to use with my iPad Air. That the keyboard is built into a protective case for the iPad is a big plus. I also like the cool look of the stand when opened up. I already showed it to a friend and now she wants one!
