I seriously debated saving money on the competitors but there was always something important to me that was lost to keep the price down. And it didn’t make sense to me to pay well for an iPad Pro and then cheap out on the keyboard I knew I would spend many hours using. The downsides discussed in other reviews are real. - Expensive: It is. But you get what you pay for. The keyboard and trackpad work flawlessly like the Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad do for my M1 Mac mini (and former Intel MBP that the iPad Pro replaced). - Heavy: It is when compared to the competitors. But it is also much more functional in the ways I need. And it is lighter than my old MBP. - Missing Function Keys: This is the only thing that I don’t like about it. But, I accept the trade off to keep the keys the perfect size, to have enough trackpad to be very workable and to allow for the perfect viewing angle with good balance. It feels like Apple engineers thought everything through and built an amazing product that for me makes the iPad Pro a laptop replacement.

The Magic Keyboard is easy to install and use, and it provides the closest feeling to a laptop experience. The strong magnets on the keyboard attracts the iPad and places it in the proper position. Once installed, you can immediately use the keyboard and trackpad. Now you can use a cursor to navigate your iPad and apps, and type with responsive keys that give that laptop feel. The only complaint really is with iPad OS, because it limits the iPad’s use to a glorified iPhone with extra features. Something like Finder would make the iPad into a more serious product, and rumors are that iPad OS 16 seeks to achieve that, but still a rumor for now. You can still do a lot with the magic keyboard and should be an excellent addition for the majority of people; typing emails and notes, and surfing the web for leisure or research, will always be much more comfortable and satisfying than just holding an iPad and having to swipe and tap on the large 12.9 screen. Lastly, I love it as a stand when I use my iPad as a second display with my MacBook Pro because the angles that can be set are comfortable enough to view the display for long hours, and the sturdiness of of the “hinge” ensures that angle is maintained. Since I work remotely, there are times I want to work outside, whether that be my yard or at a park, so being able to use the iPad as a portable second display makes work a fun experience. In short, this is the best way to get a laptop experience from your tablet, but just remember that you will still lack some capabilities of Mac OS. I would strongly recommend the Magic Keyboard for people look for a laptop experience with their iPad.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Quick response. I love the backlighting and raised keys. The magnets that hold the iPad on are very strong. I hadn’t had any issues with it, even went tilted. TH only thing is that the white keyboard does get dirty pretty easily but due to the material, it can be easily cleaned with rubbing alcohol swabs. The keyboard makes the iPad easier to use and function more like a laptop.

Great product. I haven’t used a physical keyboard with a tablet before. It does take some getting used to. But it is a great option I f you type a lot and with the keyboard, I can definitely see how this could work as a laptop. The only drawback it that the keyboard does add some weight to the iPad, but otherwise no issues.

Very good keyboard. I like it very much. It is easy to use and very. Light and very compact. I wish they would make a case for it to get better protection when carrying it around. I like the use of it. It has a good design. Even though the price is high it is built very well. I’ve loved the way apple designed this keyboard. I loved the magnetic mounting of the iPad to the keyboard case. The keys are easy to type with They are also comfortable when typing for a long time. I think the Apple iPad magic key board is a great design. I enjoy typing on this keyboard so much that my typing speed has increased and I look forward to using the keyboard when I have to type anything.

Overall, I am very happy with the magic keyboard and love that it gives me the option of using my iPad Pro like a laptop. I traded my old IPad and MacBook in for a new IPad Pro so it’s nice to have just the one product now. I love how easily the iPad can be removed from the keyboard, but yet it’s very sturdy when attached. Amazing! Just a few things I don’t like: sometimes the finger pad lags when I click on things, it is quite heavy, and I personally think the price is quite ridiculous (but I bought it so I can’t say too much about that).

This keyboard makes having an iPad so much better. I can typ when im prompted for something weitten without having to use dictation or using the pencil. I dint mind the pencil either but the keyboard is better for paragraphs and longer writings. I highly recommend adding this to your iPad.

Absolutely love this thing. Makes my tablet into a mini laptop with ease and so easy to use for hours and hours without feeling like in closed into a tight place. The mouse pad responds great and super smooth. I know if and when this one is used and broke down I will buy another one without question. If you want to have a tablet but need to some times make it into a Laptop this is the keyboard for sure. Only with apple would give is “F” keys on the top but its not that big of a deal. Oh its really not that hard to set and get going. Nothing special behind it. Just connect and you are off and going crazy like you would on a laptop

I think this is a must have accessory for any iPad Pro user if type or do any kind of similar computer work. After getting this I thought about replacing my laptop with the iPad because of the similar feel with the keyboard. That discussion is for another post. But this is definitely a great product. I wish it was dust and water resistant and feel that the product is overpriced.

At home i'm not sure if i would get much use out of this, but because i am always flying, this is fantastic. I don't need two chargers. (one for the keyboard and another for the tablet) and it works instant without some kind of connection setup. Price is a tad high in my personal opinion. There are other options out there, but i like the functionality of the hookup and charging with this one. The hinges are very firm which is another plus. The device does not feel like it will fall apart any time soon.

I don’t know why I waited this long for this keyboard! It’s a game changer! I has originally gifted the iPad pro folio with my iPad Pro 3 generation. It was great but made typing difficult and could not angle it very much. I did not want to get the Magic Keyboard as the folio is essentially the same thing and it seemed excessive to have 2 keyboard. I happened to see an open box item in excellent condition so I bit the bullet and purchase it. It doesn’t not disappoint! I can get a better angle for typing and it’s more stable. I do switch back when I want to use the pencil as I can flip the iPad to portrait mode and for note taking. My only complaint is for video calls the camera is on the short side and since it is orientated landscape wise I often looking cross eyed because I’m trying tog et my head on camera but also need to look at the screen. Also while the stand is stable- working the train is hard because the keyboard bounces around alot and a bumpy stretch will topple it over backwards. Otherwise it’s great. Buy it- you won’t regret it!

I bought this case to get more use out of my IPad Pro as I've been focused on writing more these days instead of drawing. It was a game-changer. You get the expected high-quality Apple typing experience on your tablet. Seamless connection in a flash. The keys are very responsive and the backlighting is bright. I take it to work with me to write during my lunch. The Ipad stays in place, even upon shaking it around a fair amount, it's very sturdy. Yet, when you want it off, it comes off very easily. My only complaint is that the sides of your VERY EXPENSIVE IPad are exposed with this case. So please be careful if you take it somewhere with you. All in all, I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to elevate your IPad to almost Macbook status as the newest IPads had the M1 chip. But for those who want to use this to replace your laptop, just remember that IPadOS and MacOS are now the same and the IPad has some limitations.

The Apple keyboard for the 12.9” iPad is an excellent tool for turning your iPad into a pseudo laptop replacement. The keyboard is well designed with good travel and tactile feedback. The track pad relieves the need to carry around the external mouse for the iPad. The mouse pointer disappears when not in use to cut down the distraction factor. There is a charging port on the left side of the keyboard in the hinge allowing charging from either side which helps when in meetings or out at a coffee shop. The magnetic mount holds the iPad well and allows the user to adjust the angle of viewing to fit the where the user places the iPad. The big negative for this device is the price. It is significantly more than the 3rd Party options. The one missing feature is a place to stow the Apple Pen which seems to constantly pop off when the iPad is put in a backpack or briefcase. If you want the best keyboard for the 12.9” then this is it.

This iPad Pro keyboard is the best on the market. I like the floating design, which allows the iPad to float and sit closer to you. Keys are comfortable to type on. I do wish Apple had a row of function keys on this keyboard. Other than that, it’s a solid option, but pricey!
