I never understood why anyone would pay $80 for a wireless mouse, but now I do! This mouse works seamlessly with MAC OS, offer at the right click, sliding screens, zooming in/out, and much more! If you are hesitant on purchasing this, take it from a skeptic, do it!

Just got my magic mouse 2 and it works amazing. I had the prior one but it was eating too much batteries. I had to upgrade at all cost. I had a pretty good deal too. It's works flawlessly with my macbook pro.

After years of changing batteries, finally a no maintenance cost mouse. Charges fast and connects, pairs right up with even older Mac computers! What took Apple so long to make this product?

    Huge disappointment

I bought this mouse to go with my brand new high spec MacBook Pro. I'm not a touchpad guy, even though the MBP has the best touchpad in the laptop world. I thought this would be a great complimentary Apple product for my new mac. However, I was wrong! The mouse does not fit very well in my hands, and as a result is a pain to use on a daily basis. I thought I'd get used to it but that was not the case. To make matters worse, the battery needs to be charge often, and the charging port is awkwardly placed on the bottom. You cannot use the mouse while it's charging! The touch scrolling feature doesn't work too great either. The only pros about this mouse are the looks (looks amazing, but is not very functional), uses a lighting cable that most people who use Apple products already have for charging (except the poor placement of the charging port negates this pro), and it pairs seemlessly and easily with my MacBook Pro via Bluetooth, keeping my USB ports free. I do not recommend this mouse. It is way too expensive for it to not have any practicality nor any reasonable usability. Honestly I don't know why Apple even made this mouse or how they're still managing to keep it in stores. I've used Logitech and Microsoft mice in the past and they can do a MUCH better job than this mouse can. I've been using a wireless USB Logitech mouse with my previous MacBook Pro and it worked wonderfully. I now use a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse (gasp!) that does an even better job.

Complete lack of ergonomics, poor customization

It pains me to say it, but this is perhaps the worst mouse I've used in 30 years of computing. It's not without merit -- it's built very well, it looks great on your desk next to your other Apple products, and holds a charge extremely well -- but the buck stops there. Ergonomics are simply non-existent. It's fine if you simply rest your entire hand over the hump, but I've never met anyone that uses a mouse in this fashion. Once you adjust your grip (whichever that may be,) you start to run into the perils of form over function. The glass edges are not beveled/smooth enough to prevent discomfort if you wrap your thumb and pinky fingers around the sides. Claw grip becomes almost mandatory due to the placement of the hump and the mouse's overall short length. Almost all MacOS-specific gestures work on the surface of this mouse, but due to its small size, the pinching and swiping gestures are extremely awkward. You have the choice of either attempting the gesture without loosening your grip (leads to numerous failed input attempts) or simply removing your entire hand from the mouse to perform them, which is challenging in its own way, as the mouse slides around your desk. It's a complete downgrade from gesturing on the trackpad. The nail in the coffin for me was how little customization there is for mice inherent in macOS. The maximum sensitivity still leaves something to be desired. You cannot disable pointer acceleration. I'll repeat that... you cannot disable pointer acceleration. Don't like your (lack of) options? You need to buy a third party application to customize any further, and who knows if a future macOS update will temporarily render it useless? I got a refund on this mouse within my 14-day return window. I tried and tried, but this is a miserable mouse. To think, I thought I was upping my workflow efficiency by ditching the trackpad! To give it a break, I was nowhere close to needing to recharge it beforehand. Get literally anything else -- it probably won't look as nice on your desk, but it's all uphill from there.

Even though I had reservations about this mouse, bought it to give it a try.. And I am happy I did. Initially it got some getting used to but now it's so convenient to use.

It almost feels like a remote for computers. It has many swiping and tapping gestures that control almost every aspect of the computer.

Has nice features but the worst ergonomics

    Posted .

This was included with my iMac purchase. Pros: It has great touch gesture features for the Macs, which is very convenient. Build quality is good and style looks nice. Cons: My only problem, and biggest, is the ergonomics. It doesn't fit in the palm of your hand, and it gets uncomfortable if you use it for a long period of time. Very annoying. Conclusion: If you don't use it for long periods of time, go for it. If you like a mouse that fits in your hand, don't buy it. I can sacrifice those gesture features because I prefer a mouse that makes my hands feel comfortable.

    Not worth it

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro, and I love it. The only problem is that the new machine only has USB Type-C ports and no standard USB ports, which isn't a major issue for me. The only problem is that my old wireless mouse connects via the standard USB port. I decided to purchase the Apple Magic 2 mouse to utilize bluetooth technology instead of having to use a USB adapter for my old mouse. However the charging cable for this mouse connects only to a standard USB which my new MacBook doesn't even have, so the adapter is still necessary to charge the mouse. If Apple only want to have USB type-C ports on their new machines they should make sure their own products actually connect instead of having to buy a pricey adapter to make it work!
