Bought to replace my original Magic Track-pad mostly because it was so hard on batteries. It is a bit wider than the original and a bit flatter. Works the same, which is to say really well. After using a Track-pad for so long a mouse feels odd. Typical Apple build and quality. My only pause was the price - this one will cost you. Not having to change batteries will make it worth it for me - but may not for you.

Great for pairing my 13' Macbook Pro Retina. I've used it for editing my photos on Lightroom. The battery life is great... I can't remember the last time I had to charge it. I had to put down a star due to the price.

The Magic Trackpad 2 works really nice. Not having to replace expensive batteries all the time is awesome! I also like the similarities of hand jesters and force touch like the iPhone and MacBook Pro I have.

If you miss gestures when you switch from your iPhone to your Mac, then you need this thing. I know it's expensive, but I promise it's worth it. This thing makes editing pictures, and highlighting text, and browsing the web so much easier than a mouse. I love it so much that when I completely soaked the old one in coke and destroyed it (Don't try this at home, it was v. traumatic. 0 out of 10. Do not recommend lol) I rushed to BB the next day to replace it. My old one was only about 3 years old when I ruined it, but I have a first gen version that is probably close to 10 years old that still works great, I just switched because it uses batteries and the new ones are rechargeable.

Much needed hardware upgrade for new Mac OS

The surface area on this pad is bigger. It features haptic feedback, and it picks up how hard you press to access new features in the OS. This pad has changed the way I interact with my Mac. The only complaint I have with this is that there is a small learning curve to how hard you should press something. Once that is over it allows you to manipulate items on the Mac like you have never been able to before.

As expected, I just paid the "Apple Tax". It's a big o trackpad, works well as intended. Very large surface, I'm able to use it on Windows 10 as well even with all the gestures detection. It looks very sleek and minimalistic just like all other Apple products, for what it's worth, I'd say it's way too expensive for what you get, otherwise I can't really ding it for the functionality.

    How did I work before...

It took a little getting used to. But I quickly got it down, and the shortcuts, different swipes, clicks, etc. Now, I seldom use my mouse, only when I want to highlight and copy/paste. When I use a non-Apple trackpad, I am very frustrated as I am used to the capability of the apple. And the clicking capability of the new pad is worth the extra money. As for the rechargebility, nice, but batteries lasted a long time in old version, so not a big deal. All in all, one more well thought out and designed Apple accessory.

I was not quite sure whether I wanted this or a mouse but since I’m so used to using a laptop, Apple MacBook Pro, and I like the various gestures you can do on the built in trackpad I went for it. Once I added an external monitor at my workstation this made all the sense in the world and I’ve never looked back. It really has increased my physical comfort level while working as well as sped up my workflow because of all of the gestures I can do: pinch zoom in/out, 3 finger swipes etc. The battery lasts me months before needing to be recharged and it’s as easy as connecting a lightning cable like charging an iPhone.

Bought this when my original magic trackpad stopped working. I have been very impressed with this trackpad. Like the new larger size and the way it responds to a light touch. It is also rechargeable instead of having to mess with changing batteries.

Of all the Apple accessories that I have purchased this is by far the most valuable. The ability to easily and seamlessly navigate the Mac OS interface using gestures makes my desktop experience ask quick as my laptop experience. Love having something that feels exactly like my Mac book for my IMac. Makes photo and video editing much quicker and easier.

Like one of the other reviewers, I used both this and the mouse that came with my 27 inch iMac for different things. The nice thing is that you can have them both working at the same time, so if you reach for either one it does its job. The trackpad is best for moving all the way across the screen quickly and basic internet surfing, but I still use the mouse for some precision work of click and drag when I'm doing video editing, some document editing, etc. The trackpad is pretty big, so you don't have to fumble to find it, but you have to get used to not having it in front of your keyboard like on a laptop because it's too tall for that.

What can I say, I was never one to stary from using a mouse all my life, until now. This makes using my computer so much sweeter for some reason. The more I use it the better at using it I get. Yep!!!! Love it. It's an Apple invention, so of course its top shelf & drives like a new BMW, hugging the road like nothing else, beautiful and sexy to look at and from the feel of it, like everything else Apple, yes, I'm guessing it will last forever, so with all that in mind, obviosly its going to cost more than the imitators who will make a less expensive, cheaper, plastic, through-a-way version of the same. So, if you want a BMW its going to cost, but well worth it in the long and short run. Your going to enjoy the ride.

Wider, slimmer design is nice. Built-in rechargeable battery is significant feature upgrade for me. Quite a bit more expensive than it's predecessor, but if you use it everyday, it's worth the upgrade.

After my first trackpad finally gave up the ghost , I tried to use the mouse that came with my iMac but after using a trackpad and seeing the difference in ease of use and convenience between the trackpad and the mouse , I went to purchase another trackpad . The new one is not wireless but still so much more convenient and faster than a mouse !

Great product! I use this interchangeably with my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, and it's the perfect match to be able to use the trackpad features from your MacBook of choice. I prefer this over the mouse, since the mouse is just too different from the trackpad once you get used to using the trackpad. The battery life on it is great, and you easily plug it via the included USB cable to charge it while using it. My only critique is, just like most Apple products, it's definitely on the more expensive side, and to my knowledge, there aren't any third party alternatives to this.

The Magic Mouse 2 is a fabulous product and I recommend it but ever so oftern the mouse picks up a bit of lint and doesn't work. You have to wipe the mouse clean on a regular basis. That's where the Magic Trackpad 2 comes in. I can continue my tasks using the trackpad until I can wipe the mouse. The track pad is "almost" as good as the trackpad on my Macbook Pro. The click works like it should and all else works as it should. Perhaps the click is a bit mushy but it works. Well, I should add that I have a keyboard/trackpad tray that is a really worthwhile addition since you need a stable surface underneat the trackpad. And also, I like the easy recharge feature of the keyboard, trackpad and mouse. It's a real show stopper to fiddle with a change of batteries!
