Incredibly Useful Trackpad - Premium but Worth It!

I never thought I’d need a Magic Trackpad until I started using a second monitor with my MacBook Pro and realized I hated using a separate mouse with it.
- the Magic Trackpad is just the right size. It’s large enough that I have ample space for gestures and long scrolls
- the charge lasts a long time (days) and it’s a quick charge with the included lightning cable.
I would’ve gone for the Black one since I prefer that aesthetic but got a great deal with an open-box! Highly recommend this for anyone looking to recreate the experience of using their MacBook Pro’s trackpad.

The magic trackpad is a great external device to avoid using the pad on the computer. It is very sensitive and has good battery life

Excellent upgrade over original Magic Trackpad

I have several of the original trackpads that I have used over the years with my Macs, but I decided to upgrade to the Magic Trackpad 2 for my office system. I like the addition of the Force Touch options, but have to say it takes a little getting used to when coming from the original Magic Trackpad due to the tendency to go into force touch mode with the pressure applied vs the original.
The added size of the new trackpad is another nice addition, and to be hones, the white color is nice too (I don't normally care about that but it looks good).
The only negative, I had the original Apple Wireless keyboard, and had to upgrade to the Magic Keyboard to go with this due to the different angle and height etc, as it just didn't look or feel right.

This is a lot better than the one that uses replaceable battery's. The on board batteries last longer and the pad charges quicker. It also a lot more responsive. It's bigger in width that works better too.

The price is a little steep for a trackpad BUT this thing is incredible. I am so used to using gestures due to owning a laptop and I am much more efficient with all my shortcuts on a trackpad so when I started working from home for COVID, I knew I needed a trackpad. If you're using a laptop and stuck at home, make sure you have a lapstand or somethign to elevate it and a wireless keyboard and trackpad (or mouse) so you don't strain your neck, eyes, back, etc. I love force touch and this thing is an incredible size. Highly recommend. (try open box for a better deal)

I added this to my new magic keyboard. At first, I was worried about moving from a traditional mouse, but find this works just as well as the touch pad on a laptop, with the larger size making deft maneuvers even easier than I am normally used to being able to do. Overall, I love this new track pad.

I owned the original track pad and upgraded to the new one due to the force touch and larger size. It also has the added bonus of a rechargeable lithium ion battery. I am really pleased with the purchase.

I have the 1st generation trackpad, and I love it. This one is better because it has a built-in battery that recharges with the lightning cable and the battery lasts longer than the AA's I use in my old one. Also has the touch sensitivity which I haven't used yet but will be nice if i have the chance.

On a trip to NY, Used one at the Apple store in Grand Central. Was amazed, Used it with Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro. Cut the cord from my trusty trackball when got home and bought one.
Love it. If you notice there are no “eyes” in this review because my iPhone update sucks.

Mac OS is made for the trackpad, not the mouse.
Once you get one of these, you might stop using a mouse altogether. I don't, as a mouse just doesn't work as well in Mac OS. Not even a Logitech MX Master with assignable buttons via the Logitech Options software, which I have and have tried, will work as well in Mac OS as well as the Magic Trackpad 2.
Do yourself a favor and buy one of these if only to try it. Don't like it? No problem, just return it.
Obvious downsides are that it's ugly and expensive, but it's still worth it.

The magic trackpad 2 works better than the previous version. If you have moisture on your hands for the old version, than it does not work very well. This is not an issue for the magic trackpad 2. However, you do need the current version of OS X for the magic trackpad 2 to work correctly.

It's an Apple product...of course it works. It is unobtrusive, there when I need it, out of the way when I don't. It has capabilities that I don't have without it...such as the three-finger swipe to view all running applications. I like the added features and am happy with the purchase.

This review is for the Apple Magic Trackpad 2. I recently started using this with my macbook pro. I previously used the apple magic mouse 2. While that worked well enough for most things on my macbook, the biggest problem I had was working with multiple monitors. Trying to mouse over from one "far-end" screen to another required moving the mouse vigorously on the table or leaning over to use the macbooks trackpad.
Well, that problem is solved here. This trackpad allows me to do all the things the mouse does and also easily move across monitors. It is nice that you can adapt it to various gesture controls too.
Connection has also been easy so far via plugging in with a lightning cable. Once the connection is established via bluetooth, you can go wireless.
I have given it a 4/5 because of what I consider to be a high price ($129.00). However, if it is anything like my previous apple mouse, I expect it to last for years.

Feels a lot more responsive than the previous version, Love the rechargeable feature unlike the apple mouse you can charge and use at the same time. Cheapest way to get force touch without upgrading to a whole new computer. But for what it is it is probably overpriced the apple tax is included of course but it is a very good product but should be $95.

If you have an iMac or Macbook, this is a must have. I use my computer daily for work and this trackpad is the best. The gestures are extra helpful once you get the hang of them.

I bought this trackpad after buying the iMac and I'm so glad I did because I was so used to using a laptop that a mouse was almost foreign. The trackpad is just like having a laptop and it's almost better because it's bigger and has more pressure points. Will never go back.

If you enjoy Apple track pads on the MacBook series and would like that experience on your Mini, iMac, or even while in clamshell mode, this is it. You get all the gestures you love (if you're looking for one of these, you must love some of them) in a sleek, easy to use, rechargeable trackpad.
The Surface is large, giving you room to work. It detects numbers of fingers correctly (at least for me), and gone are the days of AA batteries.

I was hesitant to buy this for several months due to the price and I must say it’s a nice addition to the Mac my only thing is they should’ve given you this as part of your Mac purchase. Trackpad is large Innoway it seems like it’s a must to be able to navigate through the entire screen of the Mac. We replace the older generation and I must say this is a lot nicer having the built-in battery that you could just plug in charge

I love the ease of use of the Magic Trakpad 2. I’m on my computer all the time and it’s so much easier to use than the mouse. I purchased my computer on July 6, and I have yet to have to charge it. It still has about 69% battery life and I mistakenly leave it turned on all the time. It’d be even better if I could use the apple pen or some sort of other utensil to write on the pad and have it show on the screen. Anywho, I love it! It is a little pricey at $130, but it’s worth it to me.

I prefer this over Apple’s “magic” mouse. Honestly, I don’t know why they still make that mouse. It’s horrendous, and the gestures are easy to learn. I moved from a MacBook Pro to an iMac and didn’t want to compromise using the mouse.
