I do not know why, but everyone I know tells me these cords all break at the same spot. Mine lasted for 3 years before I noticed it splitting. I put three small wooden pieces on the sides and wrapped it tightly with electrical tape, but even that did not stop it from splitting and eventually not charging my computer. This does the job you expect it to do until it begins to split. Since people say laptops are only expected to last 3 to 5 years, I figure this one will last me until it is time to update my computer. I do not know why Apple cannot produce a cord that will last for the life of the product especially when I am not using the cord outside my home and the cord does not get twisted or shoved in and out of book bags.

I bought this product because my daughters laptop charger went bad. I got the model with the higher rating. It's a little bulkier than the old one but works great.

MacBook Pro Power adapter was the product I needed to pick up because my old one's wire fried up.

Lost my original charger but went to Best Buy and was able to easily pick up another. It’s been working well and have had no issues so far.

This charger is the only choice for the computer we have. I like the breakaway feature but wish these lasted longer than a couple of years. However, they are better than what the new computers offer.

Just works like it is supposed to! I got one after a co worker destroyed the existing cable after 3 years. Build quality should last about 3-5 years.

I had my original charger for 10 years and it died on me. Luckily Best Buy is equipt with Apple merchandise;) and the associates were very helpful!

I bought a replacement charger over the web and it broke a week later. Bought the real deal at Best Buy and it works great. Buy the real deal not a refurbished clone.

Straight to the point. Never substitute quality. Works great. Charges fast and I only had to buy it once.

As expected, it works perfectly. It charges really fast as I thought. 85W charges that laptop in about an hour.

I’d rather buy an authentic Apple charger than buying 3rd party cheaper ones from ebay or other online sellers.

With reasonable care and precautions taken my chargers normally last longer than the average purchase. No regrets replacing this item but does come at a cost.

Great unit. All of them are, just gotta be sure it is for the right laptop. I've tripped over it numerous times and it hasnt broken yet! Even stayed in the wall!

I bought a cheap amazon version that stooped working after 3 months thankfully this one still is working and doesn't heat up like the knock off version

my first one is an early 2011 so i thought i would update mine it was starting to get tired. it is worth getting the real apple product instead of an aftermarket clone.

My old adaptor was no longer working so I had to purchase a new one. It’s best to buy the one made by Apple. Works perfect!

Works perfectly.Good quality.I always buy authentic Apple products. They always work much,much better than off brands,even if they cost a little bit more.

As with most Apple products, good quality but pricy. I have gone through several 3rd party chargers that have failed. In the long run, I probably should have just went with the Apple product.
