with the use of it I could upcycle and old charger (Macsafe 1) and use it with my MacBook Air that require MacBook Air with MacSafe 2

Allows old style magsafe power adapters to work with newer macs. Great if you have both old and new MacBooks and only want to use one charger. It is small and easily misplaced.
