This is an excellent product and saves me a lot of hassle when switching between homes with different macbook chargers. It works perfectly.

This little magnet adapter is great. It allows me to use the charger from my 2012 Macbook Pro with my brand new mid-2015 Macbook Pro. The newer Retina machines are thinner and have a different MagSafe power connector.

I have to admit that I was quite skeptical about a $10 part allowing me to use my old chargers with my new MacBook Pro Retina Display, but after buying one of them I found myself very impressed, so much so that I quickly placed an order for a second one. The adapter is magnetic on both sides and quickly attached to my old MagSafe and then to my computer with ease. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well the adapter stays in place (my primary pre-purchase concern). I have three chargers (two original MagSafes with the adapters, and one MagSafe 2) and can honestly say that I have seen no difference in quality or charging speed. In short I have two extra chargers that would have cost me $175 for only $20, a truly great deal!

I can now use my old Magsafe charger with my new MacBook Air because of this Apple - MagSafe-to-MagSafe 2 Converter. Since my old Magsafe charger still works, I bought this Apple - MagSafe-to-MagSafe 2 Converter so I could have 2 chargers for convenience purposes. It is very inexpensive and is an APPLE product so I know it is safe to use. My IT person where I work has one and she recommends it. It has a VERY strong magnet that sticks to the end of the old charger and doesn't fall off even when disconnecting it. It is a safe, inexpensive, small and convenient Apple product that I highly recommend.

What's that you say? My old MacBook Pro adapter won't work with my new MacBook Pro? And the new adapters are $80? But this converter is $10 and it works perfectly? Yes please. Thank you.

This is a great and inexpensive gadget to utilize with the older power cords! We can now move with the computer from one room to another without having to unplug and replug the cord! Also, we bring it with us when travelling in order to leverage any power cord we can use.

I think this is a great adapter. Works like it should, and it works well. Lets you used 'older' power adapters with newer MacBooks. And if you're prone to, or worried about, loosing it - you can get a cheap silicone holder for it so it's always attached to your MagSafe adapter.

This product is good. It has helped me bring back to life my old charger. Thus saving me a lot of money

First off, to the person that gave it 4 stars because "I wish I didn't have to buy it", that's not the point of a product review. This product works perfectly, I am switching from a Macbook Pro to a Pro Retina and wanted to have a charger at work and at home. I originally bought a new charger for $85 and then saw this adapter on Bestbuy.com. I returned my charger and dropped the $10 for the adapter. Works PERFECTLY! It has a tight fit on the adapter and my laptop and no interference. Yes it is not fun having to change chargers but as an Apple owner you can't say you didn't see it coming.

My laptop cord got chewed by my puppy and I needed one right away. I couldn't wait for the new one I ordered online for a cheaper price. Luckily my sister had a Mac too but an older version so I borrowed hers and had to get the adapter. It was cheap and works perfectly.

With the upgrade of my laptop I was potentially out a charger. This simple, affordable solution allowed me to keep two chargers--my new one at work and the old one (that wouldn't have worked) as a back up at home. Great invention!!

I had an original MagSafe power supply lying around, and this adapter worked like a charm with my 2015 MacBook Air! Definitely cheaper than buying a 2nd power supply!

Although i don't like Apple's idea of forcing customers to buy extra converters, the product itself works fine and I don't have any issue with it so far!

We have both older and newer Macs that use different magsafe chargers. This adapter allows the newer Macs to use the older charger, but not vice-versa.

If one has older charges for previous generation MacBook Pros, this device lets one still use them. At $10, it is much cheaper than a new charger.
