    I went with an off brand mini display port for my Mac Book Pro, but it had a bend in it and it broke within the year. So went back in and purchased the Apple - Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter, when we took it out of the box there was no bend and it works perfectly.

    I saw a lot of reviews that were negative because people couldn't use it to hook up to a project or tv. For me, it's used for an external monitor and it does exactly what it is supposed to and well. No problems with it at all. I wish it was cheaper. That being said, I bought it via open box and saved a lot so I'm very happy with my purchase.
