I had no idea what kind of connecter I would need to do a presentation with my macBook pro to an unknown projector that was provided at a venue. I was advised at Best Buy to get this one & it was exactly the right one! The organization using the projector will be purchasing their own too.

I used this to connect a MacBook Pro to an old desktop computer monitor so that I can edit video On a larger screen without straining my eyes. Even though the monitor is old, it recognized my Mac and started working with little setup.

This simple adapter is a must have for the MacBook.

It works. It's needed. I would say this is one accessory you must have if you own a mid 2012 MBP. Sure you could just use air play with Apple TV, however I have found having this option for things computer based versus entertainment based I would rather have a second monitor by this.

I was running a workshop for a group that only had an old LCD projector. So I needed to connect my macbook to the vga port on the old projector. This product did just what I needed it to do. All I had to do was plug it in. The only downside was the price as I'm not sure how often I will have to use it.

There's not much to say. The adapter does what it should and it hasn't failed me so far, but for a basic adapter, it's pretty expensive.

This item will work well for you and in great in most cases, however always make sure your products are compatable before making a purchase.

works as it should. I bought this adapter to replace a cheaper adapter that I'd previously bought on eBay. My advice: stick to genuine apple accessories. The cheaper alternative may be responsible for destroying my MacBook Pro logic board (had to replace it for $300 at Apple Store!).

Didnt have any problems with it.. i needed it to connect another monitor to my computer and it works as it should

I bought the apple branded mini display port to vga adapter for the sake of it being Apple and the expectation of phenomenal Apple quality ... unfortunately, when connected to a 27" non Apple display the screen appears to have waves of distortion. Obviously, I should have bought a dvi or used hdmi. However to use a vga kvm switch, this product works adequately for what I'm trying to accomplish... just don't expect to get high quality resolution from a vga setup.

Works like a charm. I use it on my Dell 27" wide screen in order to view wide Excel spreadsheets. I also use it to watch movies. You do need to output the audio from the mac book air if you need bigger sound as the adapter is strictly video unlike HDMI.
