Customers are saying

Customers regard the MLA22LL/A TKL Wireless Magic Keyboard favorably for its excellent battery life, high-quality keyboard, ease of use, and compact size. Many appreciate its wireless functionality, lightweight design, and sleek aesthetics. However, some find the price to be a bit high and the key travel short. The lack of a number pad is also a common point of criticism.

Apple has done a good job making their wireless keyboard better. Pairing it with my iMac was simple. Additionally, the keys feel very good in use. I also purchased the new Magic Mouse 2 and it works flawlessly.

    Apple Keyboards Can't Be Beat

Every time I pick up a new version of an Apple Keyboard, I want to sit down and write America's next great novel. This has a great feel, but you can't adjust the angle. It's got a great feel, though - not quite as good as the 2011 MBPs, but pretty darn good.

I am definitely a fan of this keyboard. Its always a good thing when you don't have to buy packs of batteries because now I can just plug the keyboard into the usb drive of my MAC to charge it. Definitely convenient.

    Surprisingly Comfortable

I have had wrist and elbow issues on and off for years using a keyboard. I happened to get this with my work setup and figured I would try it out. I figured the low profile would get uncomfortable quickly, but it's exactly the opposite. I find that I don't have any pain when using this keyboard. The key action is really nice. I now prefer it to my basic HP keyboard I have at work. I'll definitely be getting another one for work when I finally go back into the office.

Some things not as good as previous Magic Keyboard

Purchased this Lightning connector rechargeable keyboard to replace the previous model Apple Magic keyboard powered by 2 AA batteries. Unlike some reviewers, it doesn't bother me that the keys aren't backlit, as my purchase decision was driven largely by the longer rechargeable battery life. I find this newer keyboard a bit more difficult to type on compared to that older keyboard, requiring me to look at the keys as I type to a greater extent than I did before. For example, re-sizing of the left and right cursor keys makes it more difficult to identify these by touch. This newer keyboard doesn't seem as "visually ergonomic" either. The keyboard body (silver space between the keys) has a smoother, more brightly reflective finish than the older keyboard, while the characters printed on the keys are a lighter shade of gray compared to the older keyboard. In other words "readability" of the older keyboard given a quick glance was superior to this newer keyboard given my work desk lighting. Initially, I preferred the greater keypress travel distance of the older Magic keyboard, but have now grown to like the new keypress action. Without question, the keypress action of this newer Magic keyboard is vastly superior to that of my 2016 15" MacBook Pro. And perhaps a trivial observation, but the small open space underneath the older keyboard made it a little easier to pick up that keyboard and move it aside when necessary, as the newer keyboard lays close and flat against the table. However, unlike some reviewers, I like this "flat" positioning while actually typing, as it feels somewhat similar to that of a laptop.

Nice keyboard, but could be better.

The keyboard itself functions well. The problem I have with it is in the design. Apple doesn't always consider ergonomics when designing products, as much as you would think. This keyboard is being used on a headless MAC mini & I keep the keyboard set aside for infrequent use. It has almost no boarder around the keys, so it is nearly impossible to pick up or put down without pressing a key or 2. Since I am using it by holding it in one hand & typing with the other, there is really no place to hold on to it. A border on each side would solve this. It didn't really have to be this small! Otherwise it's a nice keyboard. As little as I use it though, I would probably buy another brand if I had it to do over.

I know it is crazy to spend this much for a keyboard but I love this keyboard. My old magic keyboard died after a battery exploded in it, this one does not require changing batteries as you can recharge it with a lightning cable. The only thing that some might not be into is that this keyboard is very flat and does not have any pitch to it. This is one thing that I am getting used to... That being said I still love this keyboard.

    Large Hands Need Not Apply

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

PROS Portability - this thing is tiny and nearly weightless Build quality - typical Apple Lightning Port - good if you already have Apple devices CONS Typing Experience - keys are close together, are shallow, have no concavity or discernible shape so it's difficult to navigate this keyboard purely by feel. Keys have almost no travel and therefore little shock absorption. Price - this thing almost never goes on sale VERDICT Might be good for people with small hands and have light keystrokes. Pretty bad for someone with large hands and who, I didn't know until I got this keyboard, is a "pounder." If you're the latter, I'd recommend getting a used Logitech K811 from eBay.

Well, after have my previous apple keyboard for more than 5 years, I was finally convinced to get the new low-profile Apple keyboard with its self recharging batteries. I like the conventions Of the build-in charger... No more batteries yeah.. 5 stars just for that. I like the low-profile of the board itself.

Anything Apple is awesome! This is no different. Connects easily with my iPad. I have had this keyboard for about 4 months. I have only charged it once and it sill has about 20-25% battery left! Grant it, I don't use it all the time, but it is on almost all of the time.

Battery life is incredible on these keyboards, will last for weeks! These new keyboards are much better than the last model which really ate batteries. I bought this one for an old iMac I revived, very happy.

I love my iMac and this keyboard is great. I like not having to constantly change out the batteries. Now I just plug it in for an hour or so and then I can go for a week or longer without being connected. Awesome!

I've had this keyboard for over 5 years now. Battery has been great. Charges just fine, and still great condition. My only issue is the form facto. It's a little small for typing on desktop.
