This model has a built in battery. Older model had 2 AA batteries. Can plug it in to keep a full charge or just plug it in to charge when needed. So far no issues.

Great Replacement Keyboard

The keyboard worked the minute it was plugged in and was a perfect functional replacement. We have had the keyboard for two weeks and have had no issues with the solar charging and appreciate not having to replace batteries.
